ohh cool. i thought i'd be waiting forever.
How many Teams are there in the USA??
when i was looking through the website i only saw like 4 leagues with like 8 teams per league. I guess i missed something.

There are 5 levels, arranged like so:

1) Major League - the only one
2) Division II - 4 Leagues (II.1, II.2, II.3, II.4)
3) Division III - 16 Leagues (III.1, etc)
4) Division IV - 64 Leagues
5) Division V - 256 Leagues

Each league has 8 teams...at the end of the year, the top team in each league below Major League has a chance for Promotion to the next higher division. During the league, you get points (3 for a win, 1 for a tie). Whichever team has the most points in each league is the winner. All of the winners in a division are grouped together, and ranked by total points (for instance one league winner could have 38 points, while another only has 34). The top half of these teams automatically move up to the next division. The bottom half have to play a relegation game. If they win, they move up to the next division. Otherwise, they stay in the old division.

In addition to being able to move up by winning your league, in all of the divisions above the lowest division the bottom four teams in the league run the risk of relegation. If you finish either 7th or 8th in your league, you are automatically relegated to the next lower league. If you finish either 5th or 6th, you have to play one of the leaders from the lower division in a relegation match. If you win, you stay up in your division. If you lose, you move down to the lower division.

Hope that helps! (And if I suck and messed something up, I'm open for corrections)

EDIT: Plus, if you finish in the top 4 of your league, you get paid a bonus, which is nice.

Don't complain about the waiting list in USA. This is the waiting list in Sweden:

There are currently 9076 users on the waiting list for your league. Yesterday 43 users were given a team in your league, the last of which had applied 2002-12-21 12:09:00.

holy shit!!

well i guess if they had a American Football or Baseball version of Hattrick in the USA the waiting list would be that long. Lucky for us, soccer isnt very popular in the USA.

You might be waiting until next season.

when does the new season start?

Sunday is the last league match of the season, followed by 2 dead weeks, so...3.5 weeks. You'll almost certainly have a team by the kickoff of the new season. (which is nice, to have a team a full year)

It is better. I got my team during the off-season before last, and had time to put my club together before it was time to start league matches. It was a big part of the success I had in my first season.

During the 2 weeks after the season is over can you make player transfers and play friendly's?? or does everything stop in those 2 weeks??

Coffee Warlord

Yes. The game is up and running, and you get your friendly each week.

I hate the dead weeks...they suck ass...even with freindlies....that's still only 1 game a week

I have locked up fourth place, but need a miracle to get third place. I have a question does your players mood reset after the season is over? I'd like to MOTS this last game to hopefully insure victory, but don't want to if it will lower my guys attitudes even more, but if it resets then I am cool.

I think it does reset after the season. I was just reading the rules earlier today and if i remember correctly everything resets.

But dont quote me on that :)

Whoa, sweet. I thought I was playing for nothing :) I'm in 5th going into the last match, tied in points with 4th but down in goal differential. I get to play the 7th place guy in this last match tho, the guy I'm tied with plays the 3rd place guy. I need some cash!

I just signed my passable keeper too, he'll be getting his first start in the finale, I'm slowly getting hooked on this :~)

It's not a ton, but I believe it's $19K for 4th place in division V.

Remember, next year there will be a division VI next season for the USA.

I figured it wouldn't be much, but I just got my team 2 weeks ago so I'm just starting out still, anything to help offset the losses from upping training and trying to slowly invest in some decent players is really helpful :)

So we can only buy and sell players from the USA league right??? or is the transfer International???

you can buy players anywhere, you have to go into their markets and search on players in other countries to find them. When you list a player to sell he gets put up in the USA market but anyone from any country can come look at it and bid on him.

Edit: wasn't really clear ;)

19k is good enough for me. Any easy money is great. :D

Havok, if we can't quote you, I'll have to quote somebody else :D

On this site:
Strategy FAQ (http://hattrickgameday.tripod.com/hattrick/id21.html)

There's some sort of Hattrick strategy FAQ and a question almost identical to yours is asked about in the middle of the page. Everything resets after the end of the season, so EVERYONE, it's time to MOTS AWAY!!!!! GO! GO! GO!!! :D

Later, FrogMan.

edited again cause I can't type...
