Need to improve my writing skills to match chief rum's dynasty but i can put on battle reports and solely focus on them. For this dynasty i went and decided to play the spanish. I have never played them before but look interesting as i have fought against them with several games as the almohad. My first target is cordoba. Losing this place deals an almost fatal blow to the Almohad. I have 4 providences to feed my war machine while he has 6. If i get it to 5 on 5 barring outside interferance i should be in good shape.
Both of us have been building up for some time
i have:
1 ballistia
3 fedual men at arms
4 fedual sargents (maybe my favorite early age troop)
4 jinnetts
4 royal knights
we are facing
4 almohad urban militia
2 militia sergeant
2 desert archers
3 murbita infantry
1 muwhohad foot soliders
3 ghulam body guards
1 berber camal
+ reinforcements
They take to the high ground as the defender they choose where the battle will take place they are on a hill with no woods around of any sort.
As the attacker we decied when the battle will take place so we take our 15 attacking units and surround them (the ballistia doesn't move but if the chance comes i will try to lure the general into its range)
I give orders as follows:
my fedual men at arms to attack the murbaita infantry (this was a mistake i confused them with the foot soliders who are the spear types)
my knights to attack the archers (where intercepted by aums)
my jinnets to attack the archers (i have all 4 attacking 1 group then will get the others) My sargents to get the camals(these guys can be a hassle to take out with horses having penalites against camals and being faster than any foot guys)
The battle starts well with us enclosing on their trapped forces. From here things get a little messy. The Ghulum bodyguards are leaving a trail of bodys while my knights are taking heavy loses elsewhere(they are to two top troops and i was watching them closley) My jinnettes are faring well vs his archers.my fedual men at arms are chasing these infantry which have missle and melee capabilities and they are faster.
The battle starts to go against us as our men at arms who normally are very good for me my mistake in tactics are costing us. At this point i realised they are only running around getting hit i tell all my mounted units to get these guys. His militia sergents were attacking my calvary getting a bonus vs calvary and for armored oppent(no wonder i was taking such heavy loses)
His archers dead i have my 4 jinnetts take out his infantry and the battle is starting to turn toward my favor my sergents get on his heavy horses(ghulm bodyguards) and they are no longer leaving a path of bodys where they ride.
Things continue well on all fronts and the cowards run into the castle where they shall meet their end...
(stats from the fight El Cid's jinnetts get a gold star for my best troop of the battle killing 45 capturing 31 while only losing 10
totals killed 244 captured 214 lost 201)
