OK. I sent in my tax returns on March first. I don't expect to get them back yet. I was just wondeing if anyone knows or mabye have gotten there's back yet.

I filled out a 1040 so it isn't real complicated and I'm having them deposit the money directly into my checking account.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

I did mine online and it took 7 days total for the direct deposit.

Last year the IRS had a toll free number you could call to check the status, im sure they do this year as well.

I submitted mine via internet in early February and got the money less than 7 days later...and spent it less than 72 hours later.

Heh, must be nice to get money back.

I'm gonna owe, and I'm gonna owe big time. Being out of fulltime work for 8 months and working freelance off and on during that time...well, let's just say I'm ready to cringe.

Thank god I have since been re-employed and have paid Uncle Sam a bit of cash now.

I got way too much back, so I've revised my my allowances to make sure I get it during the year. It's nice to get a "bonus" check in February...but then again, I could use that money during the other 11 months!

we're hopefully going to do some home remodelling with our return (took about a week, btw).

waiting to hear from the contractor to see if the price is right.

since it could be downright embarassing to ask how much some of you got back, how bout i ask what % of your salary did you get back?

im just wondering if im in line, did well, or very badly...

I'm getting $200 back. It was total luck, my taxes were pretty screwy this year. I had two jobs, one of which I knew was taking out way too little so I declared fewer witholdings on my second job, I sold some stock at a loss, I bought a car that gave me a $2000 tax break, I did soem consulting that wasn't taxed.... anyway, it was an interesting year :) I am just glad I didn't owe $1000+...

This year should be muuuuch simpler.

I got about 2900 dollars back and got myself completely out of debt. obviously my debt wasn't great, but I have been struggling with finances cuz my girlfriend went back to school...

Now it is time to jump back in debt, my dad found me a 97 BMW 328i 5speed for about 8000(he works for an import dealer in fargo)
