Business ain't exactly flourishing at the ol' office here, and the boss just called me in informing me of the situation, and telling me who all is getting the axe. I happen to be sitting next to one of them, who doesn't know yet. Yeah. Awkward.
And now I commence looking for a new job, as I've seen this play out way too many times not to cover my ass.

Boo. When I saw this from the main page, I thought the original thread was getting bumped.
Good luck on the job search. What kind of work do you do?

IT. Presently basically run all aspects of the IT part of the business here, still enjoy (and am good at) web application development, blah blah blah.
The good thing is, I've pretty much made myself as indespensible as you can. But, I take nothing for granted, and am certainly going to protect numero uno.

Just broke the news to my boy up here. He's taking it fairly well. One of our coworkers (they're good friends) is taking it harrrrd.

Do they get a severance package at least?

Does, "I'm sorry I have to do this" count as severance?

That said, I think we know why the 2 bookkeepers who fled did so.
Prolly took one look at the books here and said "fuck this!"
