If you haven't seen it, this girl claims she is going to kill herself in 90 days. The blog is making its way around the net and she's getting huge attention.

http://90dayjane.blogspot.com/

I'm assuming it's a hoax. Doubt any company has the balls to use it as viral marketing.

Hasn't this been done before? Oh wait, that was some girl who was going to lose her virginity online.

She'll probably make a fortune off of this. any time you can show the rest of the world how really messed up people actually are today it never fails to get an audience.

I propose we all just DVR it so it doesn't get any ratings.

It is what 99.9% of the Internets is. Pure unadulterated bullshit.

Now we are talking.

Combine those two and add a trout and you might have caught my interest.

It's gotta be fake.

Did that guy who was going to chop off his feet for a streaming audience ever get round to actually doing it?

Have Ken Kennedy run in and hit her with a steel chair right before she does it.

"MISSSSSSTEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERRRR KEEEEEENNNEEEEDDAAAAAAHHHH!!!!"

Another whack.

"...KEEENNEEEEDAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!"

Best. swerve. ever.

One can only hope that she's completely serious...whether or not it is a hoax.

I hope she's just kidding and then on day 90 she is running with scissors and bludgeons herself

First thing I thought of, too.

The stories and information posted here are artistic works of fiction and falsehood.
Only a fool would take anything posted here as fact.

Applies to all that is on the internets.

Those would have to be some mighty big scissors to bludgeon yourself with them...

Yes, wrong word. Quite simply I'm ok with her dying on accident on that day simply for irony's good will.

That would be the most fantastic case of irony ever.

Well, you would have to think that the family and friends of the girl has now seen this and will do everything in their power to make sure she doesn't die. Of course, every family has now got to look at their daughter's history and stuff to see if it is their daughter that is going to kill herself...

Easy enough to find out though.

100% chance of her NOT killing herself. Whatever.

Even if this is a hoax, it's a fascinating character study, both of the blogging personality and the commentators.

Yes. I will waste some work time there I am sure.

I'm not sure if that one achieved its actual goal or not, but I have to say, the execution was frankly horrendous and I didn't believe that one at all.

At least 90 Day Jane is more believable, which makes it more interesting.

Bah. On my blog, I've threatened to kill myself in 14 days if the NHL trade deadline doesn't go well for the Leafs.

It was nice knowing you. In an impersonal, message board kind of way.

In your FOFC obituary thread, I pledge to make many tasteless jokes about both the way you died, and the life you lived, and many others pledge to feign outrage.

It appears this site has been taken offline.

My honest guess? It was real, and as much as this girl said she didn't want help, she was crying for help. She was leaving clues all over the site about where she was hoping someone would find her out.

Just my guess.

It was a hoax. Or more specifically, an "art project".

Just my guess.

For the opposite reason, that is why I thought it was fake. Just a nice easy way to find here for an interview about this 'project'. If no one located her by day 45, I was expecting this blog entry.

Day 45 - Well, just another 45 days to go before I kill myself. I started turning off my utilities and, while I will hate to see it go, my phone will be shut off in 7 days. I was really attached to 414-555-1234... ya.. hate to see 414-555-1234 go. Especially between the hours of 7 PM - 11 PM on Monday.

THis was for art, and she failed, she couldn't even do the thing for 10 days let alone 90. What a FAILURE!

Just my guess.

Out of curiosity, what clues did you see? To me, what struck me was how she didn't even seem upset with her life. It just seemed like she was bored.

'90DayJane is a personal art piece about me. It was meant for me and
(what I ignorantly thought would be) a small number of people who
might find it on BlogSpot.'

I could have told you that was ignorant to assume that even before you typed the first word of your blog.
