WTF?!! Yeah, cut really the only consistant offensive performer you've had for the last few years.

I think it was his attitude that got him cut, not his talent.

Dear Mike Brown,

Please make a run for him.

Thanks.

This could be a nice player for the Seahawks to take a run at depending on his asking price. A 3 year deal or so, pick up a TE on the first day of the draft as well and turn a position of weakness into one of strength.

Wow. I never heard about his attitude problem?

Power run blocking scheme!

Yay, no offense!

He was cut because he was due a 5.1 million cap bonus # and they didn't want to pay it. I hope the Titans go after him with their 45 million and huge hole at pass catching TE.

Wow. I never heard about his attitude problem?

He called out Petrino during the season publicly - I wouldn't say he was totally wrong for doing so (and Petrino proved that), but it's a red flag when the guy is one of your team leaders. I think distancing themselves from the whole Michael Vick thing (who Crumpler supported), and the last coaching disaster atleast played some part in his release.

Edit to add - I'm not saying the guy is a malcontent, but a new start sounds best for both parties.

Certainly doesn't bode well for next season...he was one of the few players you could count on to perform well and get the job done. Oh well.

He was unproductuve, injured, whiny, and generally a negative presence. Due a big bonus on top of that. Smart move.

Unproductive?!

He only had the 3rd most receptions on the team and 2nd most recieving TDs... yeah, that sucks from a TE!

You have to take into consideration the money he was being paid. I think he was a great fit with Vick but IMO they are better off using the money that he would make to improve a more important position(QB, OL, DL)

I hope the Giants do the same thing with Shockey

42 catches for 442 yards...lowest AVG of career, lowest yardage and reception totals in 5 seasons. Looked out of shape and was injured, and a whiny crybaby on top of that. Yeah, on top of that he was giong to cost a lot of cap space. Why bother.

Because even with all of that being true, he was still the best player on the offensive side of the ball.

Stupid perpetually shitty Falcons.

Ha. Roddy White was fantastic this year.

Talk about damning with faint praise ...

They need the cap room, and he was an over-payed luxury. The bigger question is what they do with Brookings? I'd hate to see him go, but I'd hate even more to see him play out of position again. Even at his true position, is he still worth the money? I'm also surprised they didn't cut Dunn. They can't possibily keep him at his current price-tag.

Crumpler was cut because he does not fit the power run blocking offense. He was also, IMO, was one of the most over-rated players on the roster last year. I want John Carlson in the third round if he falls that far.

All the players that were cut with Crumpler were all dead weight to the cap salary.
