I went for Tecmo Bowl right away, too, although it's too graphical to play at work. As I was saying on the FOFL forum, I still remember the code from the first time I beat the game, 11AFFBA7.

First game was a hell of a barn-burner, but we squeak out the 35-31 win over the Bills. Marino was 73% of his passes for 344 yards, Clayton caught 4 passes for 149 yards and Tony Paige was our leading rusher, with 4 carries for 47 yards.
God, I forgot how much Sammie Smith blows in this game.

All I get is the red X at the top left. :(

Hammered the Colts 46-7 as we sacked the hell out of Jeff George. Paige had 7 rushes for 96 yards, Marino was 58% for 260 yards and Clayton had 100+ receiving again.
Then we smacked the Lions around 42-31, with Marino completing 100% of his passes for 338 yards. Clayton had 5 catches for 194 yards. I think Rodney Peete is the most underrated QB in this game. He just smoked us for 147 rushing yards on 6 carries and completed 72% of his passes for 234 yards, though to be fair, most of it came on a 90 yard TD pass to Sanders, who we shut down running-game wise.

I still wish you could save games with sites like these. I'd love to play a little Zelda or Baseball Stars, but I need to be able to save.

Yeah, poor Nintendo, missing out on all the money from people who would no doubt be re-buying all of this shit if they didn't have this option.

I wasn't trying to start an argument around the virtues of IP law, I simply wondered if it was legal.

I would always put either Duper or Clayton in at running back, whichever one was in the better condition. Maximum speed is the only attribute that matters if you're playing the CPU.

No sliders were needed because Duper rushing for 200-300 yards/game is the height of realism. I think expectations were different which led to more fun as I loved Tecmo Bowl, too. :)

I'm being sarcastic.. but I don't remember NOT having tons of fun.. even with unrealistic stats. :)
The fun part of playing a game to me is not mimicking real life so much. I'll play a text sim for that. ;)

My best friend and I had tons of fun with Super Tecmo Bowl as well. I remember playing out many seasons with him controlling SF and me controlling my Eagles. Once the new version of Tecmo Bowl comes out this year, it will almost certainly be a purchase for me.

Go into add/remove programs, remove Java and then reinstall it via java.com. That worked for me.

Well and on that note, my entire professional career may come to a stand still as I downloaded my first emu game, Tecmo Super Bowl III for the SNES. I may never do work again. Now if I can figure out how to save, life may even get better!

Hehe, I found out even better. It auto-saves whenever I close out. Wow, goodbye job and family! Now I'm hooked on getting a couple of these games. Wrestlemania is hopefully next (stupid work filter!).
