Dexter is a show I've always wanted to watch, but never got around to renting the DVDs. Now it's on network tv, and I finally was able to watch an episode. I'm intrigued so far, but I was wondering if it is the same episodes that aired on Showtime, but with the language and nudity cut out?

close to the same, I think I read they had to cut out around 7 minutes from each episode.

I'd imagine they cut out of some of the goriest scenes as well.

As I mentioned in the Knight Rider thread, this looks like a real dud. Last place finish in it's timeslot last night with pretty dismal numbers.

Either everyone who cared has already seen it or the cuts really diminished its appeal.

Just get the DVDs. If they're showing it on network tv they're bound to cut out the best parts of the show. It got dismal numbers because people have already seen it.

Soon as it got on Network TV. I said, I'm not going to bother.

I watched them all on DVD.

Pretty good show. I just rented the DVD's 2 weeks ago and just finished them. Definitely worth watching on DVD, but I think the amount of language & gore that would have to be cut would not make it as good on CBS.
