...of this cold weather, so the wife & I are going to New Zealand for 3 weeks.

:D

Seriously, though, we leave on Thursday for this long-planned vacation. Very much looking forward to it. While I've travelled a lot, internationally, this is by far the furthest I've ever travelled, and I have to admit I'm a little nervous about it. But it should be a good time.

I'll be back in 3 weeks with kiwis for everyone! :D

I think the weather right now is fairly nice. Not unbearable like the wretched summer.

My parents went there last year and had a blast. They said the flight is unbearably long, but NZ is beautiful. They are going to Africa this summer. I also dated a girl from New Zealand when I lived in California. I love the accent.

Anyway, have fun and say hi to the Hobbits and to Hercules/Xena (the warrior princess). :D

Man, I'm in Chicago this week for work and it's FUCKING COLD! I'm used to going to places like Whistler and Park City for ski vacations, and so I've dealt with temps in the mid to high teens, but this 7 degree shit is brutal - especially when you combine it with the wind tunnel that is Michigan Street.

I can see now that I'm particularly lucky that my 5-month work stint in Chicago a few years ago started in May...
