We've almost made it through one full year, and have some good teams available if you're jonesing for some college football. Some of the teams open:
Ohio State
USC
Michigan
Alabama
Arkansas
This is an old-school bowl universe, with no bcs or playoffs, and the defunct Big 8 and SWC leagues.
If you're interested, pm me or head over to the forums and request a team:

The off-season starts tonight. This is the perfect chance for new coaches to join. Getting in now assures you the full chance to recruit new talent to your schools as well as claim the coaches that you want.

Citrus Bowl: Oklahoma vs. North Carolina
Not exactly what we had hoped for at OU; a 10-2 season and having to share the Big 8 Championship with Nebraska and Colorado.
I guess we won't hear Spurrier saying "You can't spell 'Citrus' without 'U-T'? :D

They might.
In my youth, I remember OU was having an off year, and 6th ranked UNC (with Lawrence Taylor) came to Norman. They were coached by a guy named Dick Crum (no, I'm not making this up). The week before the game, some reporters were accusing Switzer of taking UNC lightly. Switzer replied, "We have nothing but respect for Coach Denny Crum and the Tarheels." OU went on to win the game 41-7. :D

The 1992 season has just ended!
The #1 team in both polls is AI controlled North Carolina who beat Passacaglia and Florida St in the Citrus Bowl to remain #1!.
Off season starts up on Tuesday and there are plenty of good teams available. If you are interested in signing up in an "old-school" BBCF league that uses Bowls and no playoff format, drop me a note and I can help you find out if this league is for you!

Come on people, sign up. It's fun. I'll even give up Rutgers if someone wants them.

Definitely fun -- well, it was fun until the Citrus Bowl loss, at least.
Just kidding -- y'all should join.

Just a bump, the 1993 season only has a few more weeks left and bowl invites have started to be sent to human controlled teams to turn down or accept.
This is a perfect time for someone to join prior to the offseason starting if anyone is interested in an old-school Bowl format BBCF league. There are no playoffs, no BCS in this league. Instead you play to try to win your conference and/or get an invite to one of the prestigious New Year day's bowls. If you do well enough in the polls you could also lay claim to the mythical national title.
If interested in joining, or have questions about the league, feel free to drop me a note.

By the way, the bowl invitation process this league has is going to be really cool. I'm stoked for it. My Wolverines just lost their shot at the Rose Bowl, but the fact that I'm now eligible for offers from other bowls is pretty cool.

Couple of questions:
- what version of the game are you using? I have the regular version installed with the "real college names" installed, but not the old-school conferences (big 8, etc.)
- what teams are available?
Thanks in advance....

We have a custom league format that St.Cronin had put together which was similar but not exactly like the various conferences from the mid-80s. Some similarities was the SWC conference featuring Texas, Arkansas, SMU, TCU, etc .. the Big-8 with Oklahoma, Nebraska, Colorado.. have major independent teams that yearly get excellent bowl bids such as Florida St, Notre Dame, etc.
There are many teams available as we have human owners for around 25 teams right now. Among teams available are current top 10 teams Notre Dame, Clemson and the #1 ranked Michigan State Spartans whom just received an invite to the Rose Bowl.
Full list of available teams can be found in the forum at BBCF League Site (http://www.bb-bbcf.net/)
