He's been diagnosed with the bad version of pancreatic cancer. Once you've been told that, you usually don't have too much longer to live. :(

Isn't that the type of cancer Steve Jobs had? Like in 03 or 04?
Either way, that's really unfortunate. Not that I cared much for any of his movies, particularly, but it's still rough..

Steve Jobs had the rare version that was treatable. If you read between the lines of the doctor's statement "That he is well enough to continue working", that doesn't sound like the has the "lesser of two evils" kind.

That's really sad. Unfortunately, cartman is right, survival for pancreatic cancer is usually measured in months even in some of the early stages. The problem is, they only find something like 10% of the cases before they have spread.

I hope he doesn't give up and buy Demi Moore a potter's wheel just yet.

I hate that whenever they go to and come back from commercial, Mike Emerick says "Roadhouse....on Versus!!".

So why did anyone tell him?

With a mom who's been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, I'd say if the doctors are saying he's well enough to continue working, he may have the treatable kind. When my mom got her diagnosis it was while she was already in the hospital and she never went back to work.

I'm not a big Patrick Swayze fan, but that is terrible news. My thoughts and prayers are with him.

The pancreas creates insulin.
For Swayze, all the best.

Too bad it wasn't colon cancer, then there'd be a rash of "She's like the wind" jokes.
Too soon?

How about:
"No one puts Swayze in the coroner's"
Excuse me while I take the elevator south.
