Rollin down to Walgreen's tomorrow to get my two passport-sized photos and then get my fingerprints done. Then I ship off my packet for my concealed handgun license. In about 60 days, I'll get it back. w00t!

I was a little upset that the Killer Bees cut center Adam Edinger a couple of months ago. He was one of my favorite players a few years ago. At least he's found work in the IHL now.

that is pretty cool- that is one of the things I want to do this summer / after graduate college- the hardest part right now deciding on what type of gun to get... Need a .22 for bow hunting, but then want something bigger to keep around

Okay, even the gun guy's confused by this one. You need a .22 for bow hunting?
I gotta tell you, I've found that arrows work a lot better with bows than .22 LR rounds.
On another note, good for you RA. Not sure where you're living now, but I'm assuming it's no longer New York?

What good is a concealed handgun? If it's concealed then people won't know what a badass you are.

DAMN YOU. i was just about to post something like this.
fuck it, too bad, i'm gonna do it anyway.
what's the point of concealing your gun? the whole point is to let other people see you're packing and they shouldn't fuck with you. if i had a gun i'd carry it on a chain around my neck.

heh- guess i could've expanded on that a little- you are allowed to carry a .22 LR with rat shot while bow hunting- for snakes. We have a lot of cotton mouth's & a few rattle snakes- and it stays hot enough for them to be out all the way into rifle season...
It's not fun walking to the stand, see a big ole cotton mouth curled up near the stand and not be able to do anything (that has nothing to do with the concealed handgun license, but figured i'd get it all done at the same time)

Can you get a Concealed Shotgun License? I want to walk around with a shotgun strapped to my back, under a light jacket of course.

I must admit I have not kept up with them as much as I would like. The name is familiar, but I don't know the team very well. My plan is next season to start going to some games and get into it more. My daughter has been asking to go since we haven't been for a couple of years now, but entertainment money has been cut down some now that I am home and seeing how this works out.

I can't say that I'd really expect anyone to know who Adam Edinger is. It's OK. I went to a ton of New Orleans Brass games, and he was one of the stars on that team. I've followed the careers of Brass players since, and he's one of the few who is still playing.
I've visited three minor-league hockey teams this year, and I don't know any of the players on any of those teams. I just went because I wanted to see some hockey. I know how it is. Believe me, there's no shame in not knowing Adam Edinger.

I figured it was something like this. I know there've been a couple of states that have recently adopted rules allowing concealed carry during bow season for precisely these kinds of reasons.
And for smurf and HA...

I've been back in El Paso for almost two years now. Texas is one of those good states with relatively good gun control laws. Texas has also adopted the Castle Doctrine from Florida.
On another issue, the point of having a concealed handgun license is having it and not needing it as opposed to needing it and not having it. It isn't to show off your gun to intimidate people. It's for self-defense and stopping as opposed to killing.

Actually non concealed carry does not need a permit.
In many states (check your local laws) it is perfectly leal to walk down the street with a side holster unconcealed cowboy style.
I have had my CCW permit for 4 years, I'm not sure that there is a single BOR that I hold in higher regard.
Congrats RA, BTW if you are gonna carry, do better than a .22...seriously that will just piss 'em off unless you aim head, centeer mass with a .22....you still getting ass raped.

I don't know where a .22 came up. :)
I'm going with a .40 for me and a 9mm for my wife. The 9 is easier to shoot and with hollow points you get pretty much the same effect.

I suspect the .22 came from my post about getting a .22 for deer hunting... When it comes to the one to keep around, in the truck and such I will also have something much bigger than a .22, I think I'll go with the 9 as well...
I'm curious now- what type did each of yall get?
I'm going to be getting a semi-auto...and this is one of the ones I've looked at...

Do some states let you carry a handgun while bowhunting in order to finish off the prey quickly if the arrow doesn't initially do the job?
I know my sister-in-law carries one when rifle hunting in the (incredibly unlikely - she's an amazing shot) instance that the first shot doesn't result in immediate death.
