So that flight I'm taking in late May, I see a price for about $218 round trip, and I go into the next room to consult with Dad on it. That's the best we find. I go back, sit down in front of my computer - this is RIGHT after finding that rate in several places on his laptop - and click the rate I'd had called up, no longer available, try re-searching. I do. Rate's gone.

Every rate that pops up now is almost $100 higher, and we're talking about travel that's over two months away.

Can I expect that to go back down at any point, or am I basically cornholed here because I took five minutes to talk to Dad?

You can keep trying, but you're pretty much hosed.

I had the exact same thing happen to me when trying to book a flight to Paris.
