Anybody plan on seeing this movie? I'm not a big George Clooney fan, but I've always been interested in the early history of pro football. I might just have to check this one out!

It looks interesting, possibly even funny. I would like to see it but it's not a movie I will see in the theater. It is a DVD rental for me.

This would be an automatic to check out for me (caveat only being if it comes in uncer, say, 20% on Rotten Tomatoes, under which I rarely see a movie for any reason) except for one thing: Renee Zellwegger. Are you kidding me? This overblown, unattractive, pouty, superlipped and annoying-voiced actress is the love interest?
Excuse me while I gag.

I think Clooney is pretty solid.

I don't think 'interest in early football' is the reason to see this movie at all, from what I'm guessing it is just the setting for running gags and such... which is still ok, I like comedies and lke Clooney/Krasinski.

I agree, this looks more like a bad "Spoof" movie than a historical movie. I am guess more alojg the lines of O Brother, Where Art Thou?
This movie looks terrible to me. I am guessing it will score under 10% at rottentomatoes.com. Then again I hated O Brother, Where Art Thou?

To clarify, I wasn't implying this film will be some kind of documentary-type portrayal of pro football history...I'm simply saying the setting of the film is during a period I have a lot of interest in.
Based on the trailer (obviously a small sample of the actual film), I will say the representation of pro football at the time looks pretty true to life. The plot is obviously mirroring how college gridiron star "Red" Grange almost single-handedly saved the NFL from oblivion.

Because it has Clooney and Krasinski, I can get my wife to go see a movie about football.
Even if it is only as football realistic as Horsefeathers, and no where near as funny, it will be worth seeing.

I might see it simply because they filmed a lot of it in the area where I grew up, in western South Carolina. Plus I usually like most of Clooney's movies.
