A few months ago I mistakenly uninstalled the software for my USB wireless internet adapter. Ever since I did that, I've been having issues with my internet on my PC going out. It will just go out at random times. A few seconds or minutes later, it will work again. I've been able to bypass the inactivity/outage by "repairing" the connection or by restarting the internet on my PC.
I am certain that my internet connection is not going out, because my XBox 360 will continue to stay online even when my PC cuts out. I'm using a NETGEAR WG111 802.11g Wireless Adapter. It was my mistake by originally uninstalling it. I'm just wondering if there's anything simple that I'm missing.
The most up-to-date driver for my adapter is installed.
It will do it while I'm surfing through various websites (never the same site or anything like that). I'll click on a site and it will load just fine. A few seconds later I'll try a different site and it will not load it.
Any suggestions? I'd just buy a different one (and move this one to make my TiVo wireless), but they're pretty pricey. I'm hoping it's something simple I can do on Windows XP. My PC knowledge as far as fixing things is fairly limited.
Edit to add: It also will stop while I'm streaming something like Itunes. I was listening to clips from songs and it just stopped midway through a clip because my PC internet stopped working.
Thanks in advance.
