If USC wins a couple games, I think ram will go on to his second straight Top Gun Part Duex victory.

only if UCLA doesn't go out early. He has a lot invested with them. (Though that isnt a bad strategy)

13 points from Lavander bust most importantly Xavier moves on
Lathum

ugly game for Neitzel
Radii

great game from Duncan though, and both my first two players advance, whew. UGA/Xavier was too damn close. Dionte Christmas was taken in both drafts, good for 2 points and done, doh.

2nd post is set up now for scoring, w/ a link to the spreadsheet. Scores should be updated daily :)

Similar strategy I used last year when I had two Gators. The key is finding contributors who are going to make it to the final four. The extra game or two is key.
If USC wins a couple games, I think ram will go on to his second straight Top Gun Part Duex victory.
I felt I could gamble on Mayo and hope they make a run. Which I think USC has a good shot at. I might have taken him a bit early but there was no way he would have lasted until my third round pick. The worst case scenario I see for Mayo is a one and done with 15-20 points, which would be close to what Dowdell gave me last year as my second round pick.

20 points in a round 1 win for my last pick...not bad.

i'm pretty disappointed with lopez and neitzel, but both advanced, and i got a solid 20 out of Duncan for Xavier. Double digits from Beasley and a Kansas State win would be really big for me if they can play well in the 2nd half here.

its updated through all completed games at this point. I'm very happy with my day 1. 2 scorers coming up a bit short is more than made up for by Beasley making it through to round 2.
ntndaecon has a very good score and even though Kentucky lost getting 35 points out of your sub 10-seed is pretty damn good.

Foul trouble and double teams lead to only 14 tonight for Joe Alexander, but getting the win is nice obviously. Hopefully he goes off against Duke. My other 5 guys all play tomorrow.
Beasley might've been the steal of the draft for Radii. I'll definitely be interested to see how he does against Wisconsin. KSU has a ton of talent, though I think all 5 starters are underclassmen.

well after today dacman might have the steal of the draft with Stephen Curry, damn!

Not what I was hoping for out of Chris Lofton.

Stephen Curry!!! 40pts and a 2nd game. Sweet.

Yeah, I really wanted Curry.

scoring updated through the end of the early games today. dacman has over 90 points with two tar heels going now and hasn't lost any. Safe to say he's going to have a BIG edge over the rest of us after round 1.

I was pretty happy with 88 points and not losing anyone, and i still am, but damn, look at some of these scores!

I'm really hurting. My 10+ seed guy going down wasn't really unexpected, though I am kicking myself for not going for a guy from Siena instead as I strongly considered it. The UConn loss really hurt me, though, and A.J. Price got hurt in the game so he didn't even score. 0 points out of my 2nd round pick. (I can't say that I shed any tears for the Huskies, though.)
The 3-peat looks just about dead. It'd almost take a miracle.
Logan
03-22-2008, 10:59 AM
I'm going to use this pick to knock out my double digit seed and also hedge my 4th rounder (KC Rivers, Clemson)...
5.5 Scottie Reynolds - Villanova
Whew.

I'll definitely take 46 points from Beasley. Maybe I can get lucky and not lose anyone else for another round.
Logan
03-22-2008, 08:07 PM
I took McNeal because I thought Marquette could knock off Stanford, and they came pretty damn close. I'll take the 50 points from my 6th round pick though.
Radii
03-23-2008, 12:02 AM
wow, I had a GREAT day today, 4 players through to the sweet 16, and everyone really did well, Harangody maybe a minor disappointment but I can't complain at all about my situation.
the totals are deceptive at the moment though. timmynausea has 3 playres going tomorrow who are all heavily favored to advance and will likely make up some ground. dacman still hasn't lost anyone and has 5 guys going tomorrow. Logan has a solid score and still has 3 more guys playing tomorrow.

so dacman pretty much wins, huh?
Radii
03-23-2008, 05:35 PM
Yeah, my team has done about as good as I could have asked for here, but dacman is going to advance all 6 of his players to the sweet 16 and has gotten very solid numbers from 5 of them(danny green WTF).

My hopes appear to rest with Stanford beating texas and Michigan State beating Memphis.

2nd post updated as well. With Tennessee losing and Xavier winning I still have a chance. Stanford beating Texas is pretty much required for me to win I think. A michigan state miracle would help too but probably isn't required.

Its starting to look like a 3 man race in which my only advantage in UCLA making the championship game.
A Texas loss tomorrow night and a UNC loss in the next round would be huge for you Radi.

haha, yeah, that's ok. There are ways for me to win that don't involve UNC losing ever I think. And if I have to finish 2nd or 3rd but UNC gets a final four, well that's ok :)

Top individual scorers:
Chris Douglas-Roberts, Memphis (Logan) 140
Stephen Curry, Davidson (dacman) 128
Derrick Rose, Memphis (timmynausea) 125
Tyler Hansbrough, North Carolina (Lathum) 101
Kevin Love, UCLA (jbergey22) 99
So it wasn't just the Curry factor the won the day!
