We changed appointments to have an HD DVR installed to this Friday, but I called a few days ago and changed it to today. Of course they can't give you anything but, "they will be there between 12-5", so I took a half day off work today and even called them before I left work this morning to MAKE SURE they had me down for today from 12-5. The support person told me, "yes we do".
I've been sitting here waiting and of course at 4:45 I call them and they tell me my appointment is for Friday from 8-12. WTF you frigging people, don't you have a f'n computer that you all read from that has the SAME f'n information on?
Why would someone this morning tell me it was changed and then someone hours later tell me it was never changed????
Customer support really sucks anymore.

I've got the 622 and it works great. When I ordered dish they were supposed to come and install but they called and said my 722 hadn't arrived and wondered if I wanted to delay. Since the main difference between the 722\622 is the hours available to record on the dvr I told them to bring the 622. The silver box goes better with my stuff than the black box would have anyway, so it worked out fine.

That's good to hear! Now if I can only get these jackaces to come out here and install it. I cringe every time my wife bitches about American Idol in SD.
I tell her, "one more outburst and I'm getting a ps3 just for the hell of it". That usually shuts her up.. at least until the next day.

American idol is not necessarily going to be in HD with the new box, unless fox is available in HD in your local market from Dish. If dish doesn't offer it, the 622/722 both enable you to hook up an external antenna, which will locate any digital locals in your area(which will be in HD when available). You can record these channels with the DVR.
Me, around here we don't even get an HD fox, as it's on the same digital band as the CBS station. It's likely to be another whole football season before I can even attempt to get FOXHD over the air. Granted i live in the middle of next to nowhere though. But I get screwed on Fox, I hope your luck is better.

I'll find out today. I seriously hope I can get CBS in HD just from the box to watch the tourny today.

 maybe you need to upgrade the wife instead of the tv.
That would cost too much. :D

The internal tuner on the Sony's are pretty good, so worst case scenerio, buy like a 10-15 dollar pair of rabbit ears and hook it up to the tv directly. Or the dish box.

Well, they installed everything and when I asked the installer where my local HD channels were, he says..
"That's a different dish than what we installed and I'm telling you, that dish is crap. Just spend around $30 and get some rabbit ears, you can plug it right into the dish and get over the air HD channels"
I said, "Well, I'm paying for local channels, so I want them to come through my reciever and I just paid $100, so I'm not spending another $30 to get my local channels in HD".
He tells me this is what dish sent him to install and I'll have to call dish back and tell them they promised me locals in HD and I'm not getting them right now.
Great service! It wasn't his fault though, so when he left I called them and they are going to send another tech over here tomorrow sometime. What a joke..
Oh well, the channels I do get right now look great.. I do have the 722 btw.
