Jeeber and the rest of the Dallas locals...I'll be in town Mon-Fri this week for work, staying at the Spring Hill Suites on Lamar St and working close by on N. Akard St. I'm told this is considered the "West End" part of the city. My exploring will be limited to restaurants and bars after work. Any ideas for places I should definitely hit? I'm very open about food...I'll try anything that's good or unique to the area. As for bars...where do the fine Texas women hang out? :)
Appreciate any help.

Dude, I'm married and have been in a relationship the entire seven years I've lived up here. I don't know where the womens is at. Sorry...
The West End is the "touristy" part of Dallas. There are plenty of overpriced restaurants in the area, and Gator's (http://www.gatorsdallas.com/home.html) is a fun piano bar. Actually, now that I think about it, Gator's is usually full of Bachelorette parties on the weekends, so you may have some luck there.
If you want to hear some live music, Deep Ellum (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deep_Ellum) isn't too far away. Of course, it's been a while since I've been down there and I've heard rumors that it isn't as safe as it used to be.
Sorry I can't be more help. I hope you enjoy your stay... :)
