I interviewed both Joe and Arlie about this game the other night. It does seem to be a pretty exciting release. I believe that they will not fall into the same trap they did with TDCB, so don't expect any date given now as being the release date.

Yes it was and the same ones who put out OOTP too. I think they acknowledged they put that college game out too fast and hopefully learned from it as well.

I normally wait on titles before I buy myself but I'm jumping in as soon as the game becomes available in October.

The game looks pretty good and I'm glad they are not going with the current name.... Now if they come out with a college fb game to go along with their pro game, that would be great.... I think Jim needs some good competition, then maybe he just make a kick ass FOF/TCY game all-in-one....

With the way they seem to allow customizing the leagues I'm wondering why you couldn't create a college league to begin with.

Maybe they'll include an option to export players and you could then import those guys into an nfl type league to play ?

The screenshots look really slick. I'm sure this game will be a huge hit, especially with the crowd of people that love to spend two or three weeks customizing teams, leagues, stadiums and the like.

Here's what I'd like to know from the screenshots: WTF will "nearest airport" have to do with the game? Or could that be like the pointless wife/kids feature of OOTP5?

With the exception of TDCB, .400 has done good games. They would be the BEST games if they spent more time on gameplay issues and less time on superficial eye candy. I finally broke down and bought v5 and while it is a solid and relatively bug-free game, it annoys the hell out of me that these guys, who supposedly give their audience everything they want, still have these maddening characteristics in the game that people have been complaining about for two years.

Like I said, no doubt that .400 will have success with this, but this will be another wait-and-see for me.

Attendance. I think increased airport accesibility adds to the likelihood of casual fans coming in for bigger games. I think the discussions of this feature were along those lines.

It's a huge step forward just being able to have the team name NOT tied to a city name. No longer does a team have to play in the mythical city of "New England" to be called the New England Patriots. I think something like this could add a lot to stadium issues. You could be looking for a better stadium locally, but not necessarily out of the region. Kind of like how the Jets and Giants moved into NJ while still being the "New York" Jets and Giants.

SkyDog your right, that is not what KC said. However, KC WAS implying that Maximus was a troll just for merely bringing this old thread up (trolls now post under new names maximus being vulcan i believe)...which seems a little crappy to me. People bring up old threads all the times...they usually aren't called a 'troll' for it.

I knew what he was trying to imply SD and it was against me. Therefore, I called him an asshole. I was just trying to bring up some history about the game and about how far it has come, then cheify decided to be a jackass. :) However, matter is over with and people just can't seem to shut up like Chiefyboy. Oh well, I won't lose any sleep over it. Life is to short. ;)

A strong case can be made that he was referring to couriers, who is also known to be posting under a new name, and actually DID post in the thread back when it was here. Considering he was talking about what has "changed" since the thread was posting, assuming he was talking about maximus and reacting so quickly and harshly is in poor farm.

Further, as sab mentioned, I'm not sure why re-bumping THIS thread (and reminding people that the game has been delayed by well over a year) is the best way to paint .400 in a positive light.

I have to admit I was a bit curious as to why you would dredge up a post like this, since you seem to be a big fan of TPF, and this post does not much more than let everybody know that the game will be released a year behind schedule. I completely understand why .400 chose to do that, however, and I'm sure that the decision will make for a better game.

Since the decision to post in a 6-month old thread couldn't possibly be to paint a positive light on .400, I conluded that the most logical reason for this was to start something, especially since history suggests that you enjoy starting something. Rather than get it to a debate with you about how great TPF will be, since I have no position in that debate. I decided to call a spade a spade.

If you don't like being called a troll, don't do things that prompt people to call you that. If calling me an ass makes you feel better, that's great. Glad I could make your day!
