i'm wondering how much i'll get for this guy:

Robert Burns (8376814)
23 years, inadequate form, healthy

A controversial person who is balanced and honest.
Has disastrous experience and inadequate leadership abilities.
Nationality: USA
Assessed value: 233_000_ US$
Wage: 1_720_US$/week
Owner: G-Vegas FC
Warnings: 0

Stamina: passable
Goaltending: wretched
Playmaking: solid
Passing: solid
Winger: poor
Defending: inadequate
Scoring: weak
Set Pieces: weak

Will I get 150K if I list him for that, or start the bidding lower and hope it builds?

dola, i need the $$$, and i only have 1 league game left this year anyway, so i might as well unload him, since i play before he'll be gone.

Ok, trying to help, I made a quick search in the biggest market of them all, Sweden (Sverige ;) )

I found this guy that resemble your guy quite a little bit:

Peter Håkansson (2779915)
22 years, passable form, healthy

A pleasant guy who is balanced and honest.
Has wretched experience and passable leadership abilities.

Nationality: Sverige
Assessed value: 386 000 C$
Wage: 2 420 C$/week
Owner: FC Buba
Warnings: 0

Stamina: passable Goaltending: disastrous
Playmaking: wretched Passing: solid
Winger: poor Defending: weak
Scoring: solid Set Pieces: inadequate

Career Goals: 13
Career Hattricks: 1
League goals this season: 6
Cup goals this season: 0

=============================
Transfer list: Forward

Deadline: 3/17/2003 at 15:32

Asking price: 600 000 C$

No current bid

=============================
Everything's in C$, just divide by two for US$. His owner has started the bidding at 600 K$C, so it's about 300 K$US.

Bidding ends on the 17th at 15:32, this means he was just put on the market this morning at 9:32 eastern. Maybe you could bookmark him (if you have supporter, if not I've bookmarked him) and follow the bidding...

Hope this helps, I can't say much more, since I've nevel dealt with players that valuable :)

Later, FrogMan.

When I search the transfer market I filter guys out who are that valuable. It helps me feel better about my own team ;)

I think you'd get $150k easily for him. (Heck, I don't have any money & I'd pay up to $200k for him). If you can afford it, you might want to wait until next season though. There aren't as many buyers right now.

If I had the money I would easily pay $150k for him, but I agree with NevStar if you wait until next season you might be able to get a little more for him. I would start the bidding a little lower, and hope some people get into a bidding war over him. Also, if you wanted to try to get rid of him right now you could put your asking price at around $225k that way if someone wants to pay that much right now great, if not you can hold him and wait until the beggining of next season.

I have to disagree with your assessment, FrogMan. There's a big difference between the two players: for a scorer, passing is a secondary skill- all you look for in a forward is scoring, then passing (and stamina). But for a middie, passing is a luxury but no a necessity. Also, Sweeden's market goes for about 125-150% of ours. Sorry to rain on that parade.

On the other hand, I really agree with Doug5984. I'd list him high and the only thing if he doesn't sell is that you lose $1K. If he doesn't sell at something like $225K, then just wait. A lot of us are hoping the market jumps back up at the beginning of next year because players just aren't selling well right now.

Hey SI, you are absolutely right, my bad.I thought I had seen the two solid ratings at the same place as for his player. You definitely know your stuff.

Although I would think that passing is a bit more than a luxury for a middie, certainly not a necessity, but a bit more than a luxury. All a question of semantic ;)

You don't have to be sorry, however I'd have to correct you. Where I live, it's minus 15 Celsius degrees, so you actually snowed on my parade, not rain. For that and for the fact that I'm tired of taht neverending winter, I don't like you very much right now :D
