At least McCain was having fun with it, I guess...

I thought this was going to be a Fu Shnickens thread.

"Can you smell what Barrack is cooking?" was a good line. Would have been better if they'd shown him a clip of how The Rock does it and he'd tried to imitate it.

McCain was good too.

Hilary not so much.

I thought Hillary came across stiff & only really hit the right tone with the joke about Orton being safe at the end. Pretty clear that she had no idea at all about the catchphrases & what they were shooting for. Interesting that the line she seemed most comfortable with involved threatening some guy ;)

I felt like Obama was almost certainly aware of the YouTube clips that spliced him & The Rock in the past, and that he probably undersold his delivery of the line in order to avoid sounding too much like him, especially since it's already been made clear that he is a close voice match without even trying. And I finally decided that was probably a smart move on his part as it kept the bit from lapsing into being too silly.

I felt like McCain came across very comfortable with the Flair catchphrase, enough so that I got the impression that he knew it before this was taped. He stumbled just a bit on the McCainiacs line at the end, not sure if that was just a flub or if he wasn't as comfortable with the line or what.

Not as good as Hillary, Barack, and John Edwards being on The Cobert Report a few days ago.
