I love FOF, so do not take this wrong. However, with Greydog making a pro game and wolverines, do we expect to see a new version of FOF this upcoming football season. If you could take the FOF engine and combine it with Wolverine interface you would have the perfect game. Wolverines and Greydog make an atmosphere in the game that FOF does not. I really like FOF because it has a really, really good game engine, but it just does not draw me in for long term because it feels too much like a spreadsheet. I have tried multiplayer and love it, but schedule this spring and summer has me to wait till fall..

What does everyone else think? Could there be another or new release this fall? I hope so...

One advantage FOF has is Solevision. Much more interesting than the gamelogs in BBCF.

Didn't a new version just come out?

I expect to see an updated TCY sometime soon. I hope it has MP, and much more customization than we're used to seeing from Solecismic. My favorite thing about BBCF is the customizablity.

There's this Shakespearian card game you might enjoy.

I don't know if I'd buy another version of FOF. I love 2K7 and it'd take something realy major to get me on to another one, like say, customizable league sizes and expansion.

Now, a new TCY on the other hand... I'd buy it the very first day it came out.

FOFC has my favorite interface of any text sim. I mean, isn't feeling like a spreadsheet the RIGHT thing for a text sim?

Not in my opinion. I don't mind if it exports its data in a spreadsheet-esque fashion - in fact, that's a must - but the interface itself needs to at least look modern (hell, late-90s would be a start) while still being functional. It's a *game* afterall. It would appeal to a far larger audience with just some very basic updates to its interface.

I open up FOF 2K7 and it just feels like I'm playing some abandonware game from a decade ago, regardless of how the engine is.

I totally agree...this game has been around since what 98 and still has pretty much the same interface.. I love the game, but I am borred after about 3 games, simming... Just does not grab you.. Multiplayer is way much better, but time does not always permit...

So it's strictly a psychological thing? Because I find that the text sims that try to be pretty tend to be difficult to move around.

To each is own, but all I care about efficiency in the interface, and FOFC rocks there (though maybe I just think that because I've been playing so much TEW)

I would like a poll, broken down by age, to see where the preference lies.

Psychological? I don't know, only in the sense that everything is psychological... It's more about looking appealing. FBCB is the example I always use. It too is dated, but it looks a million times better than FOF and has the same easy (better, IMO) to navigate interface.

I could play FOF 2007 forever.

That being said... I'm always up for a new version. :)

I think it should be web-based, sooo.. :)

If it ever becomes that way I may purchase it. Until then, I don't play FOF.
