View Full Version : Curling on NBC?

I turned on the TV a few minutes ago looking for some college hoops. While I was flipping around, I came across NBC, which was showing women's curling. Since when does curling, especially womens curling, get national TV coverage? Not to bag on curling, cause it looks like an interesting sport, but it's not exactly the most exciting spectator sport around.

I guess this is how desperate NBC is for sports coverage since it lost the NBA, the NFL, and just about everything else worth watching...

No, it shows that Americans are finally beginning to realize that curling rocks. :)

In curling, are the local teams better than the national teams? :D

The players aren't better for the regional teams, their equipment is better. They aren't tied into the National Team's broom sponsorship. Word has it, the National Team's brooms are not terribly reliable, and in fact, degrade the sweeper performance significantly. The regional squads are free to choose their own brooms.

Can't NBC brodcast soccer instead?

Who cares about brooms?

Funny, I thought curlers used stones.

I would rather watch trailer park Yard Dart championships than curling.
