View Full Version : What better for Mothers' Day?

I try to visit every year, but ever since leaving for college, I've lived 2 or 3 hours away, so it's not like it's some huge trip. However, in years that I've been taking actuarial exams, it's tough to do that, since they're usually held a week or two after Mothers' Day, so I really don't have time to travel, or spend a weekend visiting. But I guess it's occurring to me that most people probably don't visit for the whole weekend, anyway. So..what do you all do?

Interesting. That's an outre strategy that I'd never thought of.

I don't think I can edit the poll, but I fixed the thread title, if that helps.

For an extra $20 I can put you up front, complete with plastic to shield you from when I smash the placenta with a mallet.

Your Gallagher routine always stirs up the crowd at the end, its the best part of the show.
However, can you cut me a deal, how about $15 with no plastic shield?

We live close to my parents and are very close, see them a couple of times each week and talk daily. We always go to dinner on Mother's Day and I get her a gift that is from my son and I.

My parents are coming down to visit this weekend, so I guess I better come up with something. :)

why would you even want the plastic shield?
just close your eyes and open your mouth.

Same here except it's about 1300 miles for me.

Last year, as I emerged, I had dancers break into a samba.

I'm a couple hundred miles from my parents, and often going to visit on mother's day just doesn't work out. This year we went out to see them last weekend and gave her a gift then, plus I'll call on Sunday.
