This weekend a good friends brother, who I too was friends with, is assumed drowned after his kayak tipped over. Sadly they are going on two days without finding his body and it is killing me to see his family not being able to start getting closure.
Just needed to vent and FOFC is good for this.
Thanks for hearing me out.

Sorry to hear that DeTox. I heard about this on the news yesterday. A teen from Hunting Woods?
Absolutely tragic.

Very sad :(
I have a kayak that has been parked since I've had my baby - I don't think I'll ever kayak in the rivers again...

Sorry, DTR.
Kayaking is one of my favorite activities, but there's certainly an element of danger to it.
If your time is up, I suppose you might as well go while doing something that you love.

A few years ago some close friends of ours had a two year old son who was diagnosed with cancer - they took him into hospital one day because he seemed to have a 'flu that he couldn't shake off and learned that he was riddled with cancer.
For nearly 12 months the little tike survived but it was heartbreaking to see the couple with their very sick child try to live a normal life. You got to the point where you didn't want to see them because you felt so lousy at not knowing what to say or do to help them face this horror. The mother's eyes were dead. You just felt like crying when you met them.
Nothing, of course, in comparison to how they felt.
