View Full Version : Pace's Agent Gone Mad?

It seems to me someone might need a dose of reality here.

"Poston had sought an $85 million contract, with a signing bonus of $23.8 million, for Pace. That's roughly twice what the Rams are willing to pay over a seven-year contract."

$85 mil and and $23.8 signing bonus for an OT? Good as he is he's nuts if he thinks someone is going to pay this. Wait! ... How much cap room does Snyder have left? :D

Surprised the agent didn't also request 10 percent ownership of the franchise...

Simply nuts. Pace is good, but he's not THAT good.

I think its best to take what agents say with a grain of salt. They want the bar as high as possible and get some free advertising for their players by making statements like this.

He certainly wont get a contract close to that, but Pace certainly will get paid in STL or elsewhere.

If he leaves the rams, I assume Bulger will be starting at LT then.

No wonder the Rams offensive line stinks, they can't afford anyone else on the line after paying Orlando Pace. :D

Seriously though, someone always seems to be willing to overpay for a good left tackle. I don't know if he'll get a quarterback contract but he can probably find someone that will pay him the big bucks if most of the star offensive tackle free agents this year and next end up signed to long-term contracts. (Which it appears they may be.)

Not sure I can agree with you there.

As a personal policy, I never tell anyone trying to get me eighty-five million dollars to go to hell.

Now that I'm not in my pissy Mizzou loss to OU mood, I see that statement I made is kind of silly. Although Pace's agent just might get his wish and Pace sent off to a team like the Bengals!

Best interest of the client my ass.

Can you imagine what would happen to you if you went into your bosses office after an average year and demanded to be the highest paid man in the company?

Sorry Orlando, I watched all of the Rams games, and while St. Claire floundered on one end of the line, you didn't exactly take care of yours either. You have the talent to be the best in the game, but when you have an average year in a contract year. . . let's just say you aren't going to be paid 85 million dollars.
