Not a tuneup for England's Euro competition, England didn't qualify.

Expect a disinterested show from an England team full of players tired at the end of a long season and with nothing to warm up for. Hope they get beat.

I know. It was scheduled with that in mind though :)

Except they played a USA team that lacked creativity and any sort of quality passing.

Why would we start Wolff in a game like this? It seems like it would have been a good game to feature Jozy vs some better competition

Jozy's been fatigued a bit, and had ingrown toenails last week. Plus, he'll be leaving for the olympics, so it makes some sense to leave him out of this one. If he's not on the field for the Argentina match, I'll be very mad.

Sounds like we never got off the plane. Anybody have a good showing?

Tim Howard was decent

I expect VPI to tell us that the US team is still better. :D

I watched a bit of it at the gym - I just didn't see any sort of spark on the US team, and the marking on Terry's goal was awful - why the heck was Dempsey trying to pick him up instead of one of the defenders?

I thought Onyewu played pretty well at CD and Adu provided a little spark when he came on. Absolutely no reason he shouldn't have been starting over Wolff.

US did not stay connected in the midfield at all. Clark and Bradley are really the same player. The US needs to find an attacking midfielder who can add a creative spark and breakdown defenses from the midfield. You really can't fault Wolff or Johnson as they never got decent service.

Heck, even Bradley has shown scoring ability in league play with Heerenveen.

Too be fair, the English team could use one of those as well. :D I think the US has some creative talent, but there's no one who can justify building a team around, and letting him/her eschew defensive responsibilities.

What the fuck kind of passing was that? Horrible, horrible display.

Donovan probably really could have helped. As much as I get on him, the team really sometimes looks lost without him as attacking mid.
