How the hell? Oh well. Here's what I wish:
Last season, the evil that is UCLA beat us as a No. 8 to our No. 1.. so I'm hoping the same will happen this year as we are on the other side, assuming we beat the Can't-Even-Win-The-Wac Zags and then we can have our hand at Arizona.. here's hoping!

"The evil that is UCLA..." lol
How about blaming Huggins for that one, Shorty? Or the fact that outside of that great guard last year, you guys really didn't have much talent last year, IMO? But that's last year...
If it helps any, UCLA completely sucks now.
As gor Gonzaga, they play in the WCC, not the WAC. Big difference.

WCC/WAC.. same thing! LOL, thats a rare mistake from me..
This is true, 2002 'Nati relied heavily on Logan, and this year we are much worse.. still, it sucked to see us lose so early as a 1st seed.
And, yes, it definately helps that UCLA sucks now! :)

Yeah, if Cincy beats Kentucky, I'd be very happy. :D

Well, we are playing the Wildcats, but the ones from Arizona! If we get far enough to play the worst team in the land (worse than Xavier!), then hell yeah, I would be very happy as well.. :D

err...d'oh! Dunno how I made that error. I coulda swore Gonzaga and Cincy were in the Midwest bracket.
I need sleep. :D
Either way, beat Arizona too. ;)

I can't figure out how 17-11 Alabama (7-9 in the SEC) gets in when Boston College (18-11, 10-6 co-champion) in the Big East gets left out. I know Alabama has a higher RPI, but since when do you pick a divisional team with a losing record over a co-champ?
Or how Cincy (17-10, 9-7 in conference, RPI 24) gets in over BC.
Damn shame. I really have gotten disgusted with the NCAA selections and seedings the past few years. If you're not from the ACC, SEC or Big 12, you can count on getting screwed.

The state of Alabama got a major hookup as the Crimson Tide and the Auburn Tigers both got in... and should not have.
Boston College got screwed!!!!! I didn't even have the Eagles on my list as a questionable team because I thought they were a lock.. Wow, has the Big East lost some respect or what...
And Texas gets a #1 Seed.... Let me see if I have this right, Kansas finishes ahead of Texas in the Big 12 Regular Season..., Kansas goes farther in the Big 12 Tournament than the 'Horns did... but Texas gets a #1 Seed, and KU #2?
Alrighty then... Goes right along with TJ Ford getting National Player of the Year Honors, and Texas getting to play in Dallas as a #6 Seed last year in the 2nd Round of the Tourney against 3rd Seeded Mississippi State..
And, the Regionals in UT's Region take place in, what do you know, San Antonio, TEXAS...
Nah, there can't be a bias toward UT not could there... ;)

Keep in mind though, the WAC best team this season, Fresno State, was not eligible for Postseason Play..

I would have thought a Cincy player, coach, or a.d. would have kidnapped a member of the selection committee, held him at gun point, and threatend harm to him and his family if they didn't get a top 4 seed.
I guess they're just into petty crime there now.

Amen, brother (not that UTEP is helping to make the WAC better, though)!

*sigh*
I guess I gotta wait another year for my Irvine Anteaters to win the Big West tourney and an automatic bid to the Big Dance.

I love what the committee did to Colorado State.
Congratulations men, you overcame incredible odds beating UNLV in Vegas! In honor of this glorious achievement, you get fed to the wolves...
Pitt should have been a #1. They got screwed too as the highest #2 seed in my opinion, should have #2 in the East not Wake.
Oh the West is so stacked its ridiculous, 6 or 7 teams could win that bracket.

When I started off the thread by saying "How the hell?" I meant it- How in the hell did we get such a high seed..

Memphis went 12-1 in its last 13 games for crying out load, was 23-6 and played a tough schedule.
And they get a 7 seed out west, with Kansas, Duke, and Zona?
No way.

in austin we have a phrase for this, its called teh BOMC (Burnt Orange Media Conspiracy)
our friendly a&m aggies accuse every major media outlet, and most small ones, of hyping us up to make us look better. over the years it has evolved into movies and nike commercials, and therefore, we get all the breaks undeservedly
it doesnt matter that we're ranked higher than kansas in both polls and the rpi, or that we barely lsot on their floor while they played their best game, or that we beat ou twice who beat kansas, or that we played in the tougher south division, or that our 5 losses came to kansas, arizona, notre dame, osu (all ranked), none in austin, and a tough CU team in colorado where they finished 8-0, including a win over kansas
everything we get is undeserved and only a product of the media overhyping us
im not going to even bother trying to explain TJs greatness

 You're kidding me... as much a Bruin fan that I am, my loyalty stays with my alma mater, UCI. I would've loved to see the Anteaters make it to the dance with the Bruins staying at home.
