Sable vs. Taurus

Can anyone tell me what the difference between a Mercury Sable and a Taurus SEL is?

I've always heard that the Sable is a little more upscale than the Taurus. Better interior appointments etc...Basically the same car though. My Taurus SES served me well for years, although it was a bit boring...

Mercury is (was?) the high-end line.

Pretty much not much. Just a "fancy" Mercury label slapped on it, with perhaps upgraded interior appointments, and a higher price tag.
