I completely forgot about it this year, but Lathum reminded me. This is the 5th year we've done this.

Pick 10 Poker Players

1 of the poker players must be female
1 of the poker players must not have a bracelet.
1 of your picks can be made "Money Man" and he will score double points for you.
1 of your picks can be made "Main Event Chamption". If he wins the Main Event, you win the pool by default. (This almost happened two years ago when Allen Cunningham made the final table).

Scoring is based on cash won by your players. You get 1 point for every $1,000 your picks earn.

We're starting late this year, so the first couple events won't count. Have your picks in by Sunday midnight and we'll start with anything won after that.

Female: Kathy Liebert
Non-bracelet: Patrik Antonius
Money: Erik Seidel
Main Event: Phil Hellmuth
Remaining six: Phil Ivey, Gavin Smith, Gavin Griffen, Allan Cunningham, Bill Edler, Joe Hachem

I wanted to take some shots with Internet players, but I didn't see the ones I was looking for signed up for the first event. Of course, they may have played and not been listed by CardPlayer. Nothing worse than entering a guy who only plays a couple of events. Except for entering a guy who plays them all and busts them all. Yeah, I'm talking to you, JC Tran.

Just as in the past, I'll accept late entries, but you won't get points for your players in the previous events they played in. So you're still good to go Barkeep, if you want.

Any event that ends Monday night or later counts for scoring.

woot!

BTW, I'll post a full report later, but the 3rd and 4th levels before the second break were my "moving day" as well. Went on a major rush during that time that took me from a piddling 1400 in chips to 16,000.

For what it's worth, I have made it to day two of Event 32, but my stack is in grave peril, and I wouldn't be surprised if I'm out by 2:10pm local time. I think I have a $2,800 or so payout in the bag, but getting any deeper is going to take some serious luck in a hurry.

Here is your table for the start of today.

Actually a lot of lower stack players at your table (avg stack = 41,600):

(Table 54)
Seat 1: Neil Channing (http://www.cardplayer.com/players/results/Neil-Channing/4242) (London) – 34,900
Seat 2: Anthony Romano (no data) – 20,700
Seat 3: Brian Suttle (no data) – 38,200
Seat 5: Michael Sanderson (http://www.cardplayer.com/players/results/Michael-Sanderson/42519) (Odenton) – 8,000
Seat 6: Casey McCarrel (http://www.cardplayer.com/players/results/Casey-McCarrell/8915) (California) – 19,000
Seat 7: Tim Hebert (http://www.cardplayer.com/players/results/Tim-Hebert/65627) (Louisianna) – 51,500
Seat 8: Hamed 'Tony' Cholagh (http://www.cardplayer.com/players/results/Hamed-Cholagh/68339) (no location) – 39,000
Seat 9: Jon Nguyen (no data) – 92,300

Channing has three minor cashes in this WSoP. He won an event at the Irish Poker Open in March for 1.2m. He's ranked 35th in the POY rankings.

McCarrell has three cashes in this series for about 16k. Not much else.

Hebert won 100K in a tourney in march (finished first). Has another win at a circuit event a year or so ago to his credit. 638 in the POT rankings.

Cholagh - one small cash at last year's WSoP.

That's all I gots right now...

Blinds will be 800/1600, with 200 ante. If the button is the 9 seat, then I'll have three hands to push before my big blind.

Michael Sanderson Eliminated

Michael Sanderson moved all in from under the gun for his last 7,600. Jim Miller called from the cutoff seat. The players showed: Sanderson: http://www.worldseriesofpoker.com/images/cards/Kd.gif http://www.worldseriesofpoker.com/images/cards/10d.gif Miller: http://www.worldseriesofpoker.com/images/cards/Qd.gif http://www.worldseriesofpoker.com/images/cards/Js.gif The community cards hit both players as they came http://www.worldseriesofpoker.com/images/cards/As.gif http://www.worldseriesofpoker.com/images/cards/Jd.gif http://www.worldseriesofpoker.com/images/cards/2c.gif http://www.worldseriesofpoker.com/images/cards/10h.gif http://www.worldseriesofpoker.com/images/cards/Kc.gif. Sanderson made two pair but Miller's Broadway straight was the nuts. Michael Sanderson was eliminated and Jim Miller chips up to just over 39,000.

Good run, Quik! Congrats on the cash!

And tough beat on the end.

Thanks for the support.

Short version of day two play:

My first two hands were both nine high, so I folded and fully expected to defend my big blind with an all-in... and I believe the field had already lost enough players to inch up one more level of the payouts (about $300 more). Instead, I got a totally absurd walk on my big blind, and got to play the next round. The KTs was a monster compared to what I had been seeing, but I still had no reason to think I'd get called by a hand that I was actually ahead of. Ah, so it goes... a double up there would have given me life for maybe a couple more trips around the table -- and I actually outlasted 26 players on day two by folding about 15 hands. Go figure.

Scotty Nguyen Wins Event No. 45 $50K H.O.R.S.E. ($1,989,120) -

After taking down a big pot in stud eight-or-better with kings up, Scotty Nguyen had Michael DeMichele on the ropes for a hand of limit hold'em. *Molly is on fire. Not only does she have Scotty Nguyen, but she has Negreanu (as money man), Matusow, and Ferguson.
*Lathum and Ryche have got the most value out of the money man slot, both picking Chris Ferguson and doubling up his 670 point total.
*Several "No Bracelet" picks won their first bracelet this year, including Erick Lindgren, JC Tran, Kenny Tran, and Dario Minieri.

Yeah, the Giang thing was from an unofficial website. Now I'm following on the WSOP main site.

Ouch!

Quad Aces are Good, Right? ... RIGHT?
Motoyuki "Moto" Mabuchi raises to 850 in middle position and the button calls. The flop is http://www.worldseriesofpoker.com/images/cards/Ax.gifhttp://www.worldseriesofpoker.com/images/cards/Qd.gifhttp://www.worldseriesofpoker.com/images/cards/9x.gif and both check. The turn is http://www.worldseriesofpoker.com/images/cards/Td.gif and Moto bets 1,600. The button calls. The river is http://www.worldseriesofpoker.com/images/cards/Ad.gif and Moto bets 2,500. The button raises to 8,500 and Moto reraises all in. The button calls. Moto shows http://www.worldseriesofpoker.com/images/cards/Ax.gifhttp://www.worldseriesofpoker.com/images/cards/Ax.gif for quad aces, but the button has http://www.worldseriesofpoker.com/images/cards/Kd.gifhttp://www.worldseriesofpoker.com/images/cards/Jd.gif for the royal flush. Moto is eliminated in stunning fashion.

Did anyone watch the 50K HORSE on ESPN last night?

DeMichele was out of line but I was amazed at what a drunk asshole Scotty Nguyen turned into

I did see that - I would think a pro (drunk or not) would not act like that at a table. Even Erick Lindgren got pissed at Scotty.

Drunk Scotty was hilarious! Where's my fucking cocktail? That DeMichele punk should have just shutup, but Scotty did get out of line when he started rubbing it in after every pot he won. Erick Lindgren handled himself well and had a solid world series which was good to see.

MAybe it's just my numerous years in the restaurant industy but I find nothing funny about what Scotty was yelling.

I actualy felt bad Lindgren had to be involvd in that

I gotta say the decision to reverse the penalty against Hellmuth looks much better now in light of their hands off approach to Scotty.

He got pretty annoyed with Layne Flack too, who was also acting like a drunken asshat.
