a 1 gig SD card is now 10 bucks. Not suprising the RAM is getting cheaper too.

I have 2GB currently and bought 2 512MB sticks at $13.99 each. This is PC2-4200 or PC2-5300 - both are the same price.

I've already got 4GB, but stinkin XP only recognizes 2.8 of it.

Vista should not ship with 1 gig of Ram but with 2 gigs more for like $40, Vista runs like a charm for me.

That's why I only upgraded another gig. I hoping Windows sees all 3GB, but I know it won't see 4.

I guess my computer isn't new enough to get cheap memory. Crucial's prices for my memory are still through the roof.

You'll need the 64 bit editions of XP or Vista (or any other OS for that matter) to be able to utilize 4GB or greater. 32 bit addressing maxes out at 4 gig. The ceiling for 64 bit addressing is 16 exabytes (16 billion gig). Gonna be a while until you get a machine with that much RAM. :D
