The greydog site is currently not up and running but you are still able to download the demo.
I am uncertain at this point. The different fonts are making it seem like nothing sticks out in the news screen and when booking it was hard for me to find momentum and simple things like alignment and gimmick(This has been fixed). I am sure it will just take getting used to. His games have never disappointed before so I am being nitpicky here.

Can you create wrestlings and edit them?
i.e. Can I make a wrestler all 100?

An editor has already been released, and the game is very mod-driven.

I thought 07 was a big upgrade from 05. I am trying to find a reason to get into 08 but with 07 being so good Im not sure I will.
As for women, you cant live without them and you cant shoot them:) JK

Its a 30 day(gametime) demo in which you can continue where you left of after you purchase the complete game. It gives you enough of a sample to make a decision.

I totally agree with that, the jump from 07 to 08 won't be close to that 05 to 07 jump, but I feel like they addressed a lot of issues.
There's definitely a "wall" with these Ryland games you need to get past in terms of interface. But once it really clicked for me with 07, it really wasn't that much of an issue.
I'll probably hold off on a purchase until the DOTT mod is out, but this will be in my very small rotation for sure.

Been playing around with the Demo a bit, mostly checking the interface and what not. The revamped "internet" looks real nice, in fact the new format looks good overall. One thing that was mentioned in the developers diary is that processing speeds would be noticeably faster, which I am not seeing.
The advance multiple days function is nice, but again the processing speed is kind of a buzz kill when using this feature.
Haven't done any booking ro storylines yet, which are also supposed to be more streamlined. Will check those next.

Fiddled around a little with the demo, some stuff I like, some stuff I'm more meh about. Hard to say much yet really, as I've never been able to get into the default characters while playing so I spend most of the time just trying to figure out pairings for even a sample card on a test run.
Still doesn't feel very intuitive to me (for example, when you're selecting wrestlers for a match you can click to see their broad profile but have to manually select them from the pulldown to put them in the match) although there are now more clickable opportunities for the wrestlers profile to get to their stats.
Oddly though (since no one else here seems to have noticed it yet), the game "feels" like it's moving a little quicker for me, noticeable at the transitions from one screen to the next within the same part of the day.

I don't know if it's moving quicker for me. One annoying thing is it takes a long time in the profile screens. When I click to either open or close one of the subscreens there's a noticable three second or so lag when the roster screen ( that's what I'm testing now ) pops up then the actual screen I need comes up. Very annoying but it may just be my rig.
The greatest thing I've noticed so far is the availability screen which will lets you see when promotions the worker works for has events scheduled. Makes it a lot easier to advanced book and to determine who to bother with hiring.
I hated doing that manually before. That was a time sink, especially when guys worked for multiple promotions.

That's not happening for me. Or at least, I didn't notice that last night but I may not have clicked or any of them. I have noticed the screens are more responsive like Jon said.

Are you using Vista? I am. Maybe that's it.
I don't really have a real problem with it but it seems that the speed I gain from other places is kinda being bled off here. Still, so far, I'm very happy with the demo.

I was using my DOTT database and thought that might have been the problem with speed, since I had 20 promotions running and also that most everyone was over 50 since the date defaults to 2008 and I had guys dying and retiring left and right. So I loaded the default DB and noticed a slight improvement in speed, but not as much as advertised.
I will still likely get this when it comes out since I enjoy the DOTT mod so much, I just wish there was a way to move storylines along with out so much clicking.

Yup.
Beats me then. Must be my machine. I did a clean reboot and the load time at the front end went away but I still get the two to three second view of the roster screen before it goes back to the profile screen.
No biggie though. It's far from a deal breaker. Thanks for letting me know it's on my end though. Wonder what it could be? I'm not on a low end machine and I have 2gigs of RAM?
I'm on winxp, 3G of RAM and dual core AMD processor and also get a 2 or 3 seconds delay every time i click any button in the interface. I have rebooted my machine but still got it, can't remember it being this way in 07. For what i see, every time i click on a button, the CPU load by TEW08 raises up to 66% when i click on any button, specially the "back" button to go from any screen to the "Control Room" . I wonder if the other users having this delay use an AMD processor to see if this is a trend.
Update, i just loaded TEW 07 and i don't have this delay after clicking on the buttons so in my case it's only happening in 08.

I've never played any version of TEW before, but I downloaded the 08 demo because I've been in the mood to play on a new spreadsheet. Even after reading the help files and following the walkthrough it includes, the learning curve seems mighty steep. But there looks to be a lot in this worth digging up.
After about 3 hours of playing, I haven't found the load/processing times to be too bad. I've had versions of CM that ran much slower. And although I do get a small delay when I click on buttons, it is more like a beat than the 2-3 seconds that Icy mentions. I notice it most when I open up a worker profile.
Does anyone know if there is a way to print out a roster list that includes everyone's relevant stats? Being able to glance at everyone side x side x side would be extremely helpful.

The roster overview screen, but it's not printable unless you capture the screen and print it yourself. One thing that TEW needs to add (if it's already there, i can't find where) is a way to print or to export the data to text files or even better, to Excel.

AMD here.
I just tested in my old notebook that is way less powerful than my main machine and there is zero lag, not the 3 seconds i get in my main one. I wonder if it could be the processors as both of us having problems have AMD processors (my notebook has Intel and no problems.

The more I have played this game the more I am really enjoying it. I normally dont get into the fictional database that came with the game but with the additional things you can do in this version it adds a lot.
For those of you that arent familar with these games real life mods will come out at a later date if you arent too excited about playing fictional databases.

Yeah, I hope we get more feedback but I'm inclined to think this is it.

As I did last time, I think I'll probably wait for some good quality ones with a lot of depth before buying.
I've actually been playing a couple of different games with '07 on & off for quite a few months now & having a reasonable amount of fun with them anyway, so I don't feel much in the way of buy-it-now pressure until the mods are out.

After tons of tests, installing performance analyzers and looking at each application i was running, i have found my problem. I was using ultramon to manage my dual monitor setup and it seems it was the main cause of the game lag. I have turned it off and then the game lag is almost gone, no more 3 seconds wait between screens (more like a beat now as soembody said). A read at the ultramon forums showed that in some systems for unknown reason, ultramon can cause a huge slowdown in some applications when large data, forms and/or drop down menus are displayed in the screen.
Are you using ultramon too?

I'm gonna check.
If that's the process name in task manager then no, I'm apparently not. :(
I wish it was though.
