With the 1958 league apparently not getting much interest, I've decided to switch off to a fictional league. The name will remain 'Blood 'n Guts Football' but the start date will move to 1966 and the league will be completely fictional (teams and players).
I've given my AFLAC and AUFL GMs 24-hours head-start on sign-ups and so far we have 8 GMs in place, with 24 slots still remaining.
The league has a website (fairly bare bones right now), which can be viewed here (http://bloodnguts.legendsport.com)
Just a few quick bullet points for those too short on time and attention span to view the website:
* Draft from scratch - build your team your way
* Mid-size markets (real towns, but with a pop cap of less than 300,000)
* Custom helmets (to go with the era, we'll have 'flat' two-bar helmets to start with and transition to flashier stuff as we move forward)
* Three sims per week, M-W-F with midweeks on T-Th-Sa
* TCY-based college league would run alongside to generate the draft classes (which I would edit as necessary to keep the talent level realistic and also to offset the years so they match up since TCY locks you in to starting in 2004)
* PHP-based player & team pages, if I can convince someone with better PHP skills than mine to help out. I can do basic ones (like the ones at AUFL (http://aufl.simsportleagues.com)) if need-be.
* College league will have web reports as well so you can follow a player from his freshman year up to the draft and then pick him for your team. GMs will also get to vote on College Player Awards.
I think this could be a great league; we've got a nice core already. You don't have to be a salty vet, if you're new to the game and want to give MP a try, you're definitely welcome to sign on.
