great in theory, but this mandate that all posts 1st go to the moderators to review before being published is whack. i sent a post in the "role of high schools in a college sim game" thread like 3 days ago and have yet to see it. if it wasn't on-topic enough then i should've been informed that i needed to edit it further. i'm an instant gratification kinda guy, i want to post something, then immediately see it. why not make it you allow posts to be immediately published, but if they aren't up to the quality standards you reserve the right to edit them or take them down.

what exactly is the purpose of the developer's corner forum? to read discussion among OS staff and developers, or for everyone to participate on topics started by a developer?

in any event, if you wanna get more mileage out of that forum you gotta make some changes, current version is annoying to me.

the forum is a decent idea sunk by the ridiculously conceited and egotistical moderation system.

that's what i'm getting at. great idea, but who wants to wait for their posts to be posted? i don't. i always read my posts after i post them to see if my point was accurately conveyed or if there was a better way to word something. what happens now if this post i made 3 days ago actually gets posted, and i feel differently about it or i want to clarify something? can i edit? and if i can edit, what's to stop me from making a bland statement that would be easily accepted, and then i edit it afterwards after it gets published into what i really want to say?

just let me write what i want, if it goes slightly off topic who cares, at least people are visiting this damn place and are interested enough to post a reply about something. i like free-flowing conversation, i hate being bogged down by restrictions. just let us conversate.

hmmm...i could make two long posts about moderation which i know given past experience are unlikely to bring about change. or, i could start a new thread with the substance of the post i was going to make in the moderated thread. yeah, i'll go with the complaints.

The former gets you much more attention, though. ;)

?

I don't get it either. Shouldn't it be "Ben E Loser" instead of "SkyDork" now?

:D

What about Ben E Poo? Too infantile?

No, sounds too much like SWMBO talking to him...

Ben E Loser fits, but seems too harsh. Calling someone a dork is one thing, a loser is another. We're probably all dorks on here, hopefully few of us are truly losers.

Agree on Ben E Poo sounding too romantic.
