I noticed that ever since I installed AVG Anti-Virus, my e-mail attachments are all getting hung up in virtually every email I have, save for my university e-mail.

I uninstalled Norton to see if there was a conflict between the two antivirus programs that was causing the problem, but I'm still having difficulties.

I tried using DropSend to send a file this morning and noticed the attachment problem is -still- there, to the tune of 0.1 KB/S upload.

Any ideas? I've been :banghead: the last few days over the inability to attach larger files that zipped through gmail, et. al. before without any problems.

I dont have AVG, but cant you just turn off email attachment scanning?

You might have a reason for not doing this, but figured I'd ask first.

I tried closing AVG completely. No luck.

Hmm...what is the difference between your university email and your other email?

Do you use outlook for the other email, and a webmail-setup for uni?

Could be an outlook setting. I dont have my outlook setup on my home CPU, but I'm pretty sure there are settings related to outgoing email scanning. I believe you can also specify which anti-virus to use...so if you have uninstalled and/or stopped a given anti-virus, that could possibly be hanging it. Though...this assumes you use outlook.

Ironically enough, uni email uses some type of Outlook Express, whereas gmail, yahoo (as an experiment), etc. are all what they are obviously. I just use Firefox for all my various e-mail addresses; no specific program in particular.

But I'll try hunting around in Firefox when I get back to my laptop to see if I can find something in the security settings or some such.

Can't find anything related to e-mail virus scanning in Firefox options. :banghead:

I'll try uninstalling AVG and see if that fixes it.
