The thread title really says it all. Looking over my music, my collection is noticeably smaller this year than last. I have 160 songs from this year, but 960 from last year. Perhaps I just bought far more crap last year.
I'd give you mine, but my wife just called, so my list later.
Mine is mostly hiphop but whatever...
1. Lil Wayne - Carter III
2. Rick Ross - Trilla
3. Plies - Definition Of Real
That's where I stop because I can not honestly think of any good albums maybe later this year. I have been listening to Jazz lately so Miles Davis, Coltrane, Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie are all good dudes. Hopefully I can find guys who song the blues and expand into that area of music.

1. The Roots - Rising Down.
2. Duffy - Rockferry
3. The Black Keys - Attack & Release.
4. Porcupine Tree - Fear of a Blank Planet. (I THINK it qualifies in the timeframe?)
Those are the ones I could come up with off the top of my head, anyway.

Haven't bought or even pirated an album in probably 3-5 years. Guess this isn't the thread for me.

I've been checking the "what the hell..." thread religiously, don't know how I missed that Devotchka put out a new album, will need to check that as well.

The Odd Couple is pretty nice. Unfortunately since it doesn't have a hit on the scale of Crazy, it isn't getting as much press.
The Black Keys are a very nice blues rock band who worked with Danger Mouse on Attack & Release.

I am kind of surprised nobody has mentioned Offspring's new album, Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace.
It is one of their best efforts.

I have not bought (or even stolen) new music for about the 3rd or 4th straight year I would say. I hear new stuff on Sirius and that is good enough for me. My top five albums are the same top 5 albums of the last 10 years for me.

The Mars Volta: Bedlam In Goliath
Rush: Snakes and Arrows (live)
Coheed and Cambria: No World For Tomorrow (Oct. 07-close enough)
Opeth: Watershed
Not a lot of music I dug this year so far.

The only two cd's I've bought that were made this year are...
Portishead- Third
Vampire Weekend
I usually find myself about a year behind the times. I tend to buy music in huge splurges. I'm going through most of last year's hyped CD's. I usually every 6 months or so go over to QuestionableContent.net and check either the blog or the forums and look for stuff being talked about and check it out.

Calis, the reason I don't slack behind music (not to blame you for waiting, maybe I'm the sucker) is that I tend to buy Cds on their release date because Best Buy always sells new releases on the day of first sale for $10

Yeah I don't do it for any particular good reason, it's just that I tend to be in the mood for new music or not.
I'm sure I would be better off buying brand new.

Bearing in mind I've not bought a hell of a lot this year, and in no particular order, the three albums that have stood out for me this year:
Does It Offend You, Yeah - You Have No Idea What You're Getting Yourself Into
Los Camposinos - Hold On Now, Youngster...
Tapes N Tapes - Walk It Off
