Preseason QB Depth Chart Question

I want my rookie, 1st round pick QB to play a majority of the first preseason game. How do I accomplish this? Start him and set him to 9? Start somebody else and set them to 1? I still can't figure out how FOF determines preseason QB playing time. Any suggestions?

Start him and set him to 9?This usually gets a QB every snap, even in preseason.

I did this with my rookie QB in WOOF, and that got him all the snaps I wanted.

Playing your usual starter at 1 with the rookie second on the depth chart also works well. The starter will usually take one drive before going out of the game.
