I'm trying to eat this banana, it's like 3 days from being too old.

What could I eat to go along with it? Banana split is out as I don't have the proper tools.

My roomate suggested a peanut butter and banana sandwich, which I've never heard of, but he claims someone famous really enjoyed one of those.

Any other ideas?

I have an idea. Don't listen to your roommate. That sounds very disgusting.

I hate bananas but a peanut butter and banana sandwich is the one thing that makes them edible. That or slicing long ways and smearing peanut butter on the flat sides.

I'm gonna try the sandwich.

That was Elvis' sandwich. And if you want it Elvis style you best lightly toast the bread, smother that thing in butter and fry it up like a grilled-cheese.

MMMMMMMmmm.

PB and banana sandwiches are the way to go.

Also, I just noticed that Shorty is from s.ohio.

Considering your age, where do you vacation/have you vacationed over the last 4 years?

My dad eats those all the time. Sounds disgusting and I could never bring myself to try it. He says they're great though!

Interesting question, my last vacas have included Destin (FL), Windsor (Ontario, CN) Little Rock (ARK), Gatlinburg (TN) and Memphis (TN).

Those are all Spring Break trips, didn't include going to NYC and Orlando with my fam. Why? You lookin' to get away?

BTW here is the recipe I will try to be making shortly:

Elvis Presley's Grilled Peanut Butter
and Banana Sandwich

2 slices of white bread
2 tablespoons of smooth peanut butter
1 small ripe banana mashed
2 tablespoons butterSpread the peanut butter on one slice of bread and the mashed banana on the other. Press the slices gently together. Melt the butter (or to be truly Elvis-like, melt bacon fat!), over low heat in a small frying pan. Place the sandwich in the pan and fry until golden brown on both sides. Eat it with a glass of buttermilk.

I'mma do it sans buttermilk though.

It's funny, too, because I decided earlier to eat this banana and not something unhealthy. Fuck it.

It's always good to follow in Elvis'es footsteps. Elvis once showed up to a friend's wedding in a purple satin zoot suit, with a purple satin cape, a massive purple pimp hat, and carrying over a dozen guns and one of those big magnum flashlights. True story.

Elvis bought a monkey, named it 'Scatter' and took it cross country with him and his inbred crew. That right there is good decision making my friends.

Peanut butter? Bananas? Blech.

I'd rather eat a shit and piss sandwich. Well, maybe not, but those two things are vile on their own, let alone smashed together and fried. Unbelievable.

I'm like an emotionally unstable gunslinger, except my bullets are ridiculous hyperbole, and I often shoot myself in the foot.

He also thought he could control the weather, shot hundreds of TV's because he didn't like the decision is a soap opera actor made, and died a really large man wearing jump suits and getting gorged out on drugs.

Yep, that's the guy to emulate right there. :)

My kids love peanut butter and banana sandwiches. Not fried though, just on regular bread (well, toasted is fine too).

Yeah, Elvis' way is nasty.

A peanut butter and banana sandwich just needs the PB, the sliced banana, the bread, and the final and most important ingredient: honey.

Mmmmmmmmm. Good.

Think I'll have one tonight.

Hmmm. Not sure if it's completely relevant to your point, but my wife was born in Memphis, lived there until she was 22, and never went to Graceland. Obviously, she knew stuff about Elvis, though.

--snip--

The delusions got pretty bad. In 1976, Jimmy Gambill, Patsy Presley's son was playing guns with our kids and he got up on the fence. Elvis happened to be looking out, and he saw him, and he thought that Jimmy was somebody looking to assassinate him.

Elvis got a machine gun and went outside yelling, "Where's that son of a bitch? I'll kill him!" And the kids broke running. They had to explain to Elvis that it was just Jimmy and boy he pitched a fit. He said, "They don't need to be playing like that." He was only about half out of it on medication.

He didn't shoot the gun that time, but he did another time. 7 or 8 in the morning Al Strata saw a snake going up a tree at Graceland. He went in and started telling Elvis about it. Elvis had already taken his sleeping pills, but now he was ready to snake hunt. In a few minutes, somebody called me and told me he was out there. I went out and he had his machine gun and he was shootin'. About half the time he couldn't even see the snake. I never saw it myself. Anyway, he looked like some kind of drunk. He'd say, "There it is, I see it!" and he'd rear back and let fire. And when he'd shoot, he'd go about two steps back and about ten forward with the gun just waving. Finally I got him to sit down on the curb, and when I did, well, he just knew he saw the snake again. He pulled out the gun and shot it. The old gun kicked so hard that Elvis just went right on over in the drive. I said, "Elvis, we might want to go in, there's some people down at the gate." And he looked and he said, "Yeah, maybe I ought to."

I staggered him in and got him into bed and I said to Al, "Man you're crazy. Never let him outside with a machine gun. The bullets had to be spraying all over the road, because that's the way he was shooting, straight toward the road.
