Preseason Emails:

Coach of the Year:
Patrick Bopp of Wisconsin has been named Coach of the Year for his performance this past season. Bopp started in 2001 at Southern Mississippi and was mediocre there. Then in 2014 he switched to Northern Illinois where he got better results and he is the Wisconsin coach since 2030 where his worst result was #13. The strange thing is that he was also Coach of the Year in 2030…

Team Management :
- Reggie Cox, a defensive end, blames the breakup of his relationship on a lack of free time during the past season.

Hall of Fame inductions :
- 12 guys are inducted into the College Hall of Fame and one is from Indiana in the person of TE Marco Greenburg. I’ll make a special chapter as we also have 2 more players inducted in the Indiana Hall of Fame : ILB Cornell Carpenter and QB Henry Whalen.

Coach Movement :
4 schools hire head coaches from other Universities.

Key Indicators:
Academic Reputation: 64 (23rd)
Prestige: 67 (22nd)

Overall Hall of Fame
TE Marco Greenburg is inducted with 79% of votes. He is the 13th TE in the Hall. His stats : 122 receptions, 1656 yards, 13.57 avg, 13 TDs, 197 targeted passes, 7 passes dropped, 6.1 catch percentage, 84 points. He is from Clarksburg, West Virginia and graduated in Social Work.

Indiana Hall
QB Whalen is our first QB in the hall. 828/1366 passes, 60.6 pct, 12256 yards, 8.97 avg, 100 TDs, 52 INTs, 2 rushing TDs. He holds 3 school records and his 100 TDs give him a 36 TDs lead over the second QB (Spellman). His 12,256 yards give him a 5000 yards safety blanket as well. This last value is also the Big 10 record and #11 overall behind several Heisman trophy winners.

ILB Carpenter is also our first LB inducted. 371 tackles, 121 assists, 4 sacks, 6 INTs, 85 TFLs, 33 passes defended, 3 QB Hurries, 6 forced fumbles. He holds two school records for tackles and TFLs ahead of famous LB Percy Ogunleye.

These guys join already members : TE Fulton (2016) and CB Oja (2030).

Emails :
The 4 schools that got their coaches hired away, hire new ones.

Previous Seasons staff moves :
2036 : Defensive Coord
2035 : MA, NE, SW, NW
2034 : Syndicate Coord, MW
2033 : Offensive Coord, MA

Meaning I can change not much : GL, SE, DS. And no available scout is better than our current crop thanks to Fido Helper, it took me less than 2 minutes… The only area where we could improve is MA scout.

Schedule

This time I went with relatively high ranked teams to win the end of season tie-breakers (BCS ranking). I targeted Iowa State (#33) and Navy (#40). Iowa State accepted staright away but Navy declined. Since MK joined us, I scheduled UCF at home in wek 15 (hoping I scheduled the correct Florida team).

7 home games, 4 away games. No Wisconsin or Michigan State this year on our schedule, guess we are lucky as team could hardly be easier inside the Big 10.

Wins : Iowa State, NC State, Michigan, Penn State, Iowa, Ohio State, Purdue, Central Florida

Losses : NorthWestern

R Clayton, Larry 12 QB Fr 16 82
Farrell, Sean 9 QB* Jr 20 (+7) 61

As 3ric said last season, we’ll start Vallery, although he is a bit raw and have Gaines as a backup (a very nice backup indeed). Clayton redshirts.

Wiitich, no question about that. We need to tweak the game plan to feed him with balls as much as possible.Niklos is #2 and we need fresh meat at this position as always in Indiana history…)

Kaplan, Ethan 48 FB Fr 33 100
Sampson, Ken 30 FB Jr* 28 (+4) 99
Libby, Rodney 38 FB* So* 26 (+10) 63

Kaplan and Sampson are about the same, I am planning on playing a TE out of position here at FB.

Bergen, Nathan 85 TE* So* 16 (0) 26

Jeffries is the better receiver, Delay the better blocker, so he might play at FB. Bell is a decent #3.

Sailer (if he can stay healthy) is very impressive ! Blades and Hemingway are great #2 and #3. Kaplan fits at #4. Maximum redshirt. Bertram is a very exciting prospect !

Seems to me that England should be backup RB, unless his secondaries suggest that he should not be. Currently only 2 points behind Nicklos, he will pass Niklos overall in one or two games.

Ding, ding, this is my 3,000th post ! Congrats RealDeal for asking a clever question.

England is stuck at #4 because he is only good at avoiding fumbles (where Niklos is also good). Both Niklos and Rison are better (way better) than England at breakaway speed and that's the most important criteria for me at RB. Thanks for analysing though !

Our Game : #22 Indiana (0-0) (-12) vs #36 Iowa State (0-0) on TV5
TV is in Bloomington for our first season game. Let’s not disappoint.

The first drive begins nicely thanks to Wittich and Valery but Wittich fumbles the ball away. 3 and out later, we recover the punt and are ready to score and I was right when WR Blades ran a reverse for our first TD : 7-0. We then recver the ball quickly and RB Witich makes his own TD : 14-0. Next one is a QB Valery TD pass to WR Sailer ! 21-0. Then Sonnier makes an INT in our end zone. The game flows easily so far ! And another RB Wittich TD : 28-0. Second negative action for us came on a Valery INT, however, they are quickly intercepted right after, and CB Buchanan runs it back for a TD : 35-0. QB Gaines is already on the field just before haftime. IT’s definitely backup time as our QB, RB, TE and WR mentioned are 2nd string players… quick sim … Final score : 49-0.

Dominating Win over what was supposed to be a decent Iowa State team.

I think the guys were fired up by getting the word Wisconsin & Michigan State aren't on the Schedule. If ever there was a year to make the Playoffs, this is the one..

Not to put too much pressure of ya, Alf.. ;)

By the way, I appreciate the thought in picking up a game with my alma mater, the University of Central Florida. Only problem is I don't want to see them get the snot knocked out of them, which I'm assuming will be the case. Better to whip up on the hated South Florida Bulls!! Now that would be fun!! :D

Let's keep the momentum rolling into this big game with N.C. State. Too many times in the past the Wolfpack have had IU's number, although not much recently I believe... And not this year either..

GO IU!!!

Thanks guys for putting even more pressure :) We do have an easy schedule, but are starting a young inexperienced QB in Vallery and have a very raw kicker too.

MK : UCF is on the bottom 5 of the BCS, no worries !

Our Game : #10 NC State (2-0) at #21 Indiana (1-0) (-6) on TV1
We do get maximum TV exposure today as this is the only atchup between Top 25 teams ! Let’s play hard.

I’l just do a quick sim as I’m leaving for basket-ball soon and want to give an update before.

We begin by punting and then it’s score time for both teams as each team scores on their possession. Defenses seem to have stayed in the locker room today. However they lead 21-17 at halftime since they score 3 TDs whil we scored 2 TDs and 1 FG.

Then it’s a complete reverse scenario in the second half as we hold them to 16 total yards and 0 points while we roll thanks to a perfect Vallery-Wittich duo. Those two look like potential NFL stars.

Our Game : #21 Indiana (2-0) (-11) vs Illinois (1-2) on TV5
Guess our Top 25 ranking is finally appreciated by the TV guys. We should have an easy game today.

We begin by punting and see them march on us when LB Whalen makes a spectacular interception. Howver, the series ends on downs as we do not kick a mid range FG since our kicker sucks… Both teams refuse to play today and Q1 ends on a 0-0 score. To begin Q2 Vallery is intercepted, but fortunately they stall on a 4th down. Finally RB Wittich wakes up and we take the lead 7-0. We felt comy before halftime but they convert another 4th down attempt and tie the score 7-7 before halftime…

Wittich, Vallery and Sailer combine well for a nice first drive when QB Vallery is intercepted in their red zone. You can tell he is still young. But on the very next drive, we stop them and force them to punt when their punt is blocked by DT Cabrera and recovered by Illinois punter on his 2 yard line. Ball to Indiana. Then Vallery completes a TD pass to TE Jeffries. 14-7. It seems our engine has now started as we get luck recovering one of our punt, and converting it into another TD pass : 21-7. And another Vallery TD pass to Sailer this time : 28-7. To explain you how bad our kicking game is, PK Cash just missed a 29 yards attempt. Our defense makes wonders just after when we sack their QB and recover his fumble. Backup RB Niklos cashes in : 35-7. Game Over.

Damn, that was a helluva game. What's this guy doing in Champaign instead of South Central Indiana?

Great start Alf, and I concur with 3ric, it's great to see this team has the ability to turn it up to another level in the 2nd Half of ballgames.

Now it's time to hit the road for the first time in the '37 Season. Let's jump all over mighty Michigan :D and Penn State early and put these one's away before Halftime..

Recruits
We lose 8 guys.

Our Game : #21 Indiana (3-0) (-30) at Michigan (0-4)
30 points favorites. We should have another excellent showing today.

They get the ball, punt straight away. We get the ball, 3 plays later, we score a TD : 7-0. Let’s hope this figures how the game will be today. Another drive, another TD : 14-0. Ah, finally Cash can kick some FGs : 17-0. LB Whalen makes an INT when Michigan was in a position to score. Cash, then displays his terrible talent as he misses a 33 yards FG. And Vallery is intercepted late in Q2 on a meaningless play.

We play very poorly in Q3, INT, fumble and punts and let them score a FG on us. 17-3. Fortunately, QB Vallery to SAiler score another TD for us : 24-3. And later again Valer to Niklos : 31-3. Cash connects on a late FG : 34-3.

We lose 6.

Our Game : #21 Indiana (4-0) (-10) at Penn State (1-4) on TV5
We are starting getting used to TV coverage, and our boys seem to perform better under the spotlights !

We have some confidence on our game and it proves quite quickly when we build a nice long drive complete by a reverse run TD by WR Sailer : 7-0. At he end of Q1, they have 0 first down and 6 total yards. Just to begin Q2, I see an unfamiliar move from an Indiana QB has Vallery ran the option and pitched to RB Wittich for a TD : 14-0. Shortly after, QB vallery throws a TD pass to TE moved to FB DeLay : 21-0. And another Vallery pass to Sailer just before halftime : 28-0.

I’ll quick sim the second half and interrupt if anything critical happens. End game : 49-10 !

I've already played up to week 9, so I don't have stats from week 7, but our run defense is still top 5. Our defense is also only allowing the 5th fewest points in the nation. As I was saying at the beginning of the season, Vallery, Wittich and the WR corps are really impressive this year !!! I'm at work now, so I'll post more about the game tonight from home. The recruiting doesn't look good for now.

Recruits
We lose 6.

Our Game : #19 Indiana (5-0) (-20) vs Minnesota (1-4)
Their 1-4 record does not reflect their real strength as they lost some close games. Caution mode is on !

They start with the ball, however they are intercepted by our LB Jeans and Wittich runs twice for 50 & 3 yards and a TD : 7-0. PK Cash then converts a FG and on the following kickoff, WR Hemmingway returns the kick 52 yards for another TD : 17-0. Both teams score a FG and halftime happens on a 20-3 score.

RB Wittich is all over the field with already 150 rushing yards and he just added a receiving TD : 27-3. PK Cash is on a hot streak as he scores again : 30-3. And another one : 33-3. Games ends at 33-6 as our backups manage to stop their offense.

Howard Cash, with his 4 FGs performance today just tied the school record for most FGs in a game !

Time Management :
4 D-. 13 D… Bad news. 17 blocks left.

Recruits
We lose 5… Still no one signed.

Our Game : #17 Indiana (6-0) (-22) vs Iowa (4-3) on TV4
They barely beat Illinois, a team that we crushed. Roll on baby !

They kick, we receive. We drive nicely as usual when Vallery throw a very long pass that is intercepted in Iowa endzone. Touchback… Fortunately, our defense is already active as we force a 3 and out. We also are forced to punt from Iowa 49 and special teamers are doing great too as they tackle the punt returner for a loss and a TD : 7-0 ! Tackler is RB Wittich !! Then they fail to convert a 4th down. We do the same thing… Once again they fail to convert a 4th down while they were within FG range… Strange thing. Well, we’ll think about that later and after two long Vallery passes, RB Niklos runs it in : 14-0. A little later, midway Q2, Wittich fumbles the ball away but they fail again on a 4th down attempt. Then once again on our punt, we recover the ball deep into their territory. RB Wittich scores : 21-0. Halftime.

To begin Q3,FS Dorrough intercepts a long ball in our endzone for a touchback. A few plays later, QB Vallery hits WR Hemingway for another TD : 28-0. Quick sim mode on… Wittich is unable to run today. The field is soaked. Another Vallery to Hemingway long TD pass : 35-0. Q4 begins with backup players at QB and RB. It’s even our QB3 playing (and scoring). Our special teamers blocked a FG in Q4. Iowa is not shutout as they attempt and score a lame late FG : 42-3.

I did get my first recruit in week 8 last season (lucky I guess), but the second didn't committ until week 11... it's a lot harder if you shoot for the top recruits - everybody else seems to do the same!

Recruits
2 sign (at last) and we get 7 rejections (plus those who do not notify !)

B.J. Marzullo, a quarterback from Spruce Creek High School in Port Orange, Florida
Vinny Toombs, a defensive tackle from Garinger High School in Charlotte, North Carolina

- QB Marzullo is #199 overall and #25 QB. He is scouted as 95 by a VG QB scout. Average student however. 86/141 passes, 1412 yards, 12/2 TD/INT. He likes to run a lot : 48 attempts, 402 yards, 6 TDs.

- DT Toombs is #209 overall and #12 DT. Scouted as 83+ by an excellent DL scout. Very good student with 84 tackles and 5 sacks.

Already in : QB, DT
Still needed : RB, FB, TE, WR, C, G, T, DE, ILB, OLB, CB, S, DE, +1 free

Our Game : #17 Indiana (7-0) (-10) at Ohio State (3-4) on TV4
We are just 2 wins away from the playoffs and this one is on the must win list !

Wittich seems to have found a rythm today, but Vallery throws is usual early game interception. But we get the ball on downs and then Vallery sets the field on fire whil RB Niklos finishes the job : 7-0. Then on the following drive, we sack their QB, force a fumble and recover the ball. Vallery zips it to WR Hemingway : 14-0. Bad news for our special teams just after as Ohio State returns the kickoff 91 yards for a TD… : 14-7. our ground game is very effective today as RB Wittich scores his first TD : 21-7. End of Q1. To begin Q2, we build a nice drive that is concluded by a TD pass to TE playing at FB DeLay : 28-7. We kick, and they return the ball 84 yards again… However, backup S Brignac makes a big play and intercepts their QB in our endzone ! Halftime.

Just a few comments : QB Vallery scores a long TD pass on a 4th down. He also is intercepted twice in Q3, but scores again later. We gives points late in the game in garbage time : 45-17.

Our Game : #16 Indiana (8-0) (-6) at #20 Northwestern (5-3) on TV3
We are slotted as favourites, but that’s very suspect to me. Seing how easy our schedule is compared to Northwestern and our injuries at thin positions. Despite their running game, we’ll stick with the 3-4 defense.

We kickoff, they start from their ten and are forced to punt (20 yards…) and we start within their 40. We then both punt for the whole 4th quarter and they score a FG at the end of Q1. We are unable to produce any offense and watch them score a TD : 0-10. Vallery is then intercepted and they convert into a TD : 0-17. Halftime…

We start Q3 by being intercepted… Things start to get really ugly. No comments : 3-30. Stats to follow.

Northwestern is still a formidable opponent - we'll have our revenge on them in the playoffs!

MylesKnight

Damn.. You kind of knew N'western wasn't going to lose 3 straight though. That program is at too high of a level for something like that to happen.. How did they lose to a horrible Michigan team?

Well on the positive side, it's only 1 loss. Two more W's and it's a return to Playoff Football for Indiana University.

The scary thing is a 3 loss Northwestern team may end up finishing ahead of a 10-1 IU team in the Final Regular Season Poll.

This could very well be a future 1st Round Tourney Matchup, as I've noticed, at least in my Dynasty, that they to match to up 2 at-large teams from the same Conference in Round 1.

By the way...

"B.J. Marzullo, a quarterback from Spruce Creek High School in Port Orange, Florida"..

..Port Orange?.. That's UCF Recruiting Territory. No wonder the Knights are stinkin' up the joint. They can't keep the High Schoolers at home.

Our Game : #21 Indiana (8-1) (-27) vs Purdue (3-7)
Usual spread. Usual no TV game… Must win in order to ensure a playoff spot.

We start well but lose the ball on a RB WIttich fumble. Both teams suck all Q1 long but we are still able to score a late FG by our PK Cash. Bad new ti start Q2 when our QB Vallery is intercepted and they return the ball for a TD : 3-7. We then drive all the field and finish thanks to RB Wittich : 10-7. We also manage to attempt a late FG just before halftime : 13-7.

This game is really horrible and boring, fortunately, our defense is still better than theirs, so we are winning the position advantage. Finally an offensive play is positive when QB Vallery hits RB Niklos for a TD. RB Wittich converts for 2 points : 21-7. We intercept them shortly after and RB Wittich scores again : 28-7. our star duo QB Vallery-WR Sailer is back on track too : 35-7. Final Score.

Bryan James, an offensive tackle from Fort Bragg High School in Fort Bragg, California
Darryl Proffitt, a safety from Middleborough High School in Middleborough, Massachusetts

- FB Barker is scouted as 70+ by an excellent RB scout. Poor student, I doubt he’ll develop into a starter for us… The good thing is that he is a nice pass catcher

- WR Rhodes scouted as 62+ is an excellent student that idolized Syracuse… 1200 yards and 6 TDs in High School for this small guys (5-10)

- C Vrabel is our only ranked recruit this week (#568). However, he is scouted as 83—by a lousy OL scout.

- OT James is scouted as 60 by an excellent OL scout. Terrific student

- S Proffitt scouted as 66+ has been stolen from B.C. His stas sold him to me : 5 sacks and 8 INTs.

UCF is not that bad and still has a shot at conference title (South Florida is in the lead).

They start and punt, we drive and score thanks to RB Wittich : 7-0. Then it’s QB Vallery to Hemingway. 14-0. They still manage t score a FG before halftime : 14-3. IN Q3, Vallery is intercepted and the ball is returned for a TD : 14-10. I thought we were controlling the game, but UCF didn’t think so… However, Vallery and Wittich manage to connect and that’s another TD for us : 21-10. Wittich socres again later on the ground : 28-10… Quick sim… 28-18 final score.

Mercury Gray, an outside linebacker from Aspen High School in Aspen, Colorado
Butch Bergmann, a cornerback from Tupper Lake High School in Tupper Lake, New York

- RB Stone is scouted as 48+. Has 1400 all purpose yards and 10 TDs. Good student

- TE Gillespie is scouted as 56- but is an excellent student. Played LB in high school.

- G Tornberg is a walk-on. Scouted as 44. Terrific student

- DE Bronson is scouted as 62+ and had 12 sacks in high school.

- ILB Tracey is also a walk-on. Good student, he is scouted as 52-. 89 tackles, 5.5 sacks and 2 INTs.

- OLB Gray scouted as 49 is just an average guy. Too bad he cost us a scholarship

- CB Bergmann is ranked #914 ! Scouted as 68+, he had 9 INTs

- S Kirchhof is a late contact guy whom I offered a scholarship straight away since he has a nose for interceptions : 14 in High school.Scouted as 52. I am sure he is much better than what my scout sees.

Our Game : #18 Indiana (10-1) (-3) vs #8 USC (10-1) on TV3
We are slotted as favourites. That’s very nice from Vegas but I really doubt we can win today…

Both teams punts for a while, but when we think we have controlled them, they play a 4th and long and score on the play… 0-7. However, QB Vallery is not impressed at all by the crowd and throws bullet passes and finish with a pass to TE Jeffries : 7-7. 30 seconds later, USC has already increasd their lead : 7-14. After being stopped on the ground for nearly 25 minutes, RB Wittich manages to break free and scores on a 28 yards run : 14-14. Vallery is intercepted late in Q2, fortunately for us, they do not get into FG range quickly enough.

We were really close to scoring and failed to convert a 4th and 1 in their 30 yards. Just as expected, they come back into our red zone and score on the ground : 14-21. 2 minutes later, RB Wittich runs into their endzone : 21-21. I start to think we could make a big upset today. They start Q4 by scoring a FG and retake the lead : 21-24. We then are forced to punt but our defense finally makes a big play when we intercept USC QB in their 40 yards. Damn it, we stall on their goal line ad have to settle for a short range FG : 24-24. However, our defens makes another big play as DE Horozowski & DE Cox sack USC QB, force the fumble which is recovered by OLB Richardson. Ball on their 20 with 5:48 left to play. QB Vallery then throws perfect passes and the final pass goes to RB Wittich : 28-21…5:08 left to play…Woaw, USC QB Nemechek is intercepted once again by our backfield, (that’s 3 INTs in money time !!!). We are forced to punt, but they then fail to complete a first down ! Ball to Indiana with 1:30 left to play. We run the clock and win 31-24. WOW ! Time to prepare for round 2 !

Our Game : #17 Indiana (11-1) (-7) vs #35 Kansas (9-3) on TV4
Might be an easier game than vs USC, but it’s the playoffs guys ! Kansas won the Big12 ! The game is scheduled to have temperatures below 30°F and there are only 11,200 people to see the game…. The funny thing is that the game is played in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. That is the city I renamed to Bordeaux when I played my Bordeaux Red Wine TCY Dynasty in 2001/2002 !

Kansas starts with the ball, but instead of punting they try to convert a 4th down, no way guys ! We, on the contrary are rolling on all cylinders when RB Wittich scores it in : 7-0. They punt this time, and we roll on them again. We score on a QB Vallery pass to TE Jeffries : 14-0. Then, to begin Q2, we sack their QB, force fumble and recover it in their red zone. Backup RB Niklos scores straight away : 21-0. Then backup DB Jarvis makes an INT, but we punt for the first time. We were rolling into their territory when RB Wittich fumbled the ball away, that’s one of his only weaknesses. However, our defense is very active today as we make another interception. They do manage to get into our 10 yards but fail to even attempt a FG before halftime. Strange coaching.

Q3 begins nicely as we manage to have a 1st and goal and their 1 yard line, but Wittich is blocked 3 times and we have to kick a FG : 24-0. Later in Q3, Vallery is intercepted and we have to defend again. Woaw, I never thought they could score, however, they do attempt a 55 yards FG which is good : 24-3. Nevermind, QB Vallery finds WR Hemingway for an 80 yard TD pass : 31-3. In Q4, we make another interception and the game is nearly over. In fact, it is : 31-3. We win !

Our Game : #14 Indiana (12-1) vs #2 Idaho (13-0) (-4) on TV3
Finally, we are underdogs. That’s very surprising against a not so big Idaho team. Time to scout them ! They play the single back offense, their QB has 37 TDs for 11 INTs. Thankfully, we run a strong 3-4 defense. They also have the best defense (in points allowed) country wide, but they only faced second tier teams apart from their game vs Army last round.

Both teams punt on their first possession, but we are the first ones to unlock the scoreboard thanks to a QB Vallery pass to WR Sailer :7-0. They punt, and then Vallery throws his usual early interception. It’s then Wittich time until vallery is intercepted another time. Too bad we were in their red zone. After getting the ball back on a punt, we attempt and miss a 41 yard FG… Then with 2:15 left in the first half, CB Buchanan makes a great interception in our end zone while preventing their star WR to score. We try to make a late quick effort but fail to score before halftime.

To start Q3, we drive for 6 plays, 49 yards and another score as we add a FG : 10-0. We then force a punt, but our punt returner Hemingway fumbles the ball away, and they manage to recover. Fortunately, they only score a FG : 10-3. Vallery is intercepted another time, but this time, it is in our territory. LB Whalen saves our ass as he makes a tremendous interception in our end zone, just like Buchanan did in the first half… Q4 starts on a punt battle. With 7:00 left in Q4, no team has been able to score. We manage to run the clock by giving the ball to RB WIttich (hoping he doesn’t fumble it…). They start their final drive on their 14 yard line with 59 seconds left to play and no timeout. There’s hope ! They fail to move and we win the defensive battle 10-3 ! Time to move to the semi finals !!!

Wo-hoo! Go Hoosiers! Beat Vandy!

Then it's Florida in the finals...

Alf

Not to disappoint you, but Vandy is #1 and has spanked every team they met this season, plus we have our 2 top WRs down with injuries... Unless RB Wittich makes an impressive game I guess we'll probably lose.

Our Game : #13 Indiana (13-1) vs #1 Vanderbilt (14-0) (E) on TV2
We face the #1 in the nation and Vegas odds are even. That’s a great confidence boost ! Like Idaho, they play the single back offense and their only weakness is at RB, wherz they have a lousy yards per carry rating. Apart from that, they are tops everywhere else.

Both teams punt for the whole 1st quarter, we are winning the field position battle when Vandy build a superb long drive and opens the score on a TD pass just before the end of Q1 : 0-7. We were beginning to find a nice rhythm (sp?) when Vallery throws his usual interception, and Vanderbilt returns it for a TD : 0-14. Howver, we are not shutout as we manage to score a late Q2 FG : 3-14.

Q3 begins as usual by punts exchanges. Then they start building a nice drive when FS Dorrough makes a great interception and runs 68 yards for a TD : 10-14. Finally, there can be hope today ! Well, 2:48 later, Vandy has scored : 10-21. And they add another one : 10-28. Seems the game is over for us… Vallery scores late in the 4th quarter and also converts the 2 pt attempt : 18-28. But they score another TD pass by their QB Tate : 18-35. Game over. We were not ridiculous, but they are the #1 team in the country !

The run defense was simply amazing this season. Holding the #2 team in the country to one yard on twenty-seven carries?? That is absolutely insane.

Well done, Alf. Hopefully this run will lead to better recruiting next season.

Thanks ShagVT. I guess I was too concentrated on the football part and really messed up with the recruiting. That's annoying for the long term of this program !

We are only losing 11 guys to graduation, but most of them (6) were starter and we also lost starting punter Cash (I even forgot to recruit a new punter, and will take the blame…)

WR Sailer was injured every season for us. That’s a shame since he has tremendous abilities. Started 32/37 games for us. Amassed 2459 yards and scored 24 TDs. Big 10 2nd team WR in 2034 and 2037.
WR Emingway started mainly when Sailer was injured… so he started 8 games this season. 2000 yards and 15 TDs is not bad either. Big 10 1st team WR in 2037.
WR Kaplan was at best a WR3 for us. Started 2 games this season as we were badly injured at WR. 700 yards and 3 TDs
OG Franz started 3 years out of 4 (38/48 games). 61 KRBs with 29.7 KRB% over his college career. His weakness was pass blocking as he allowed 21 sacks.
P Cash played only in 2036 & 2037, but will be remembered as our best punter. 39.2 avg in 2037. He was All America Senior team winner, Big 10 1St team and Big 10 academic team in 2037. Congrats !
DE Jenkins was a backup all career long. Too bad as he could have developed into a spectacular pass rusher. He still managed to get 10.5 sacks.
DT Nason was a starter when we played the 43, but we played 34 recently. Nothing exceptional, he still managed 11.5 sacks.
ILB Graham played only 2 full seasons as a starter (recording 50 tackles each of them). Nice red bars, but not very impressive football stats.
OLB Taylor was unlucky because we are loaded at OLB these years and have not suffered too many injuries. He started 5 games this season helping our team defense be one of the best nation wide.
OLB Richardson – see my comments on Taylor
CB Buchanan is the school interception leader (19). Started 38/49 games. Was Big 10 2nd team in 2035 and Big 10 1st team in 2037. Has the perfect size to succeed in the NFL (6-3)

Thanks Alf, I'll download either later this Evening or Tomorrow (Friday) Morning..

Congrats on a Superb 2037 Season!!

There isn't much room for improvement I suppose, and that puts me in the Hot Seat a bit I suppose.. ;)

By the way, anything else I need to know to get started? Can we go over the House Rules, I don't want to commit any violations.. :D

Also, what exactly do I need to do once I download the Dynasty Info? I haven't been a part of any VC before and I don't want to do anything to screw up my UCF Dynasty that I've been going at for some time..

Thanks!!

Myles, make a new folder in your TCY directory named "Universe_UCF" or something and move the files from the "universe" folder to the new one.

Then extract the zip file into the empty "universe" folder.

When you are done with the 2038 season and have a zip file of it saved, just move back the UCF files to the "universe" folder.

You cannot rename the "universe" folder, because that will get you an error message complaining about a corrupt installation.

The house rules are easy, and posted on the front page of the TCY Village Challenge web site (http://www.websamba.com/lissvall/indiana/):house rules
-No bribing
-A coach or scout may only be replaced after being employed for 4 years
-No more than one coach or scout may be replaced each year
-No blitzing of the recruits (multiple contacts in the same week, not including scholarship offers)

Alright, everything is good.. Just downloaded the ZIP and moved everything over to the Universe File..

Everything loaded up just fine.. Thanks for the help there 3ric... I'll probably need it again when it comes time Upload after the '38 Season ends.

By the way, I like the Carolina Blue & White color scheme.. Very nice.. :D

I'll be getting underway either later on this evening or tomorrow sometime..

Thanks again!!

GO IU!!
