I'm trying to remove licenses from my old computer and license to my new one. I want to move FOF, TCY and FBCB licenses. However, when I click on ELicense Control on the old machine, nothing happens. Has anyone here experienced this and been able to resolve it? I'm writing elicense support now, but just wanted to see if there was an "easy" fix.

I believe it has something to do with the new Windows XP service pack.

Try using a freeware program called ExplorerXP. Using ExplorerXP, you just browse to the game's .exe file, right click, and you should have the option to unlicense.

I'm amazed that e-license hasn't posted a fix for this. I got the ExplorerXP fix from a 2006 thread on the OOTP forums. Like yourself, I was a bit surprised when the e-license control panel would no longer open.

The other option is to modify the shortcut you use to launch the game, and add --unlicense to the end.

Yup - I got this fix from the same thread a few months back.

Good info to know. This should go in the reference thread if there still is one

There's also an ELicense patch that I got through customer service this week that fixes the problem. Now if I could only figure out a way to get Boonty to give me the WWSM ID so I can transfer that. Thank God nobody else uses that system as customer service seems non-existent.

Would've been my suggestion as well.

Yeah, stick this in the reference thread. Had the same thing happen to me a few weeks ago - had to find my original email receipt in order to find my license.

The order ID can also be found in a text file in the installation folder of the game. I think it's called receipt.txt.

Thanks JPhillips. The patch seems to work though I didn't try an uninstall. I was able to open my elicense Control Panel though which leads me to believe it will work.

I have done the -unlicense trick many times. And my E-license button hasn't worked in years either, in both XP Pro and Vista.
