Ok, I know about the run/aggressive run bug, and this isn't it. I just played my second pre-season game in AUFL and had something strange happen. Now, granted, I am just now getting to the point where I am thinking more and more about the gameplan so I haven't looked at the logs this closely so this may be happening more than I realize, but I'd like to know why it's doing this and if I am missing a gameplan setting.
Ok, so I have under both the run and aggressive run columns 0 for nickel and dime in both outside the red zone and in the red zone. However, twice in the first drive alone I get nickel personnel on a run defense:
Dallas: Single-Back formation with four receivers, strength is left. The defense is in a 34 with nickel personnel and 2-deep bump-and-run coverage, expecting the run.
3-2-DEN36 (1Q: 12:59) Bruce Harper ran outside the right tackle for 5 yards. Tackled by OLB Charles Baker, assisted by ILB Eddie Johnson. Key block delivered by Tunch Ilkin.
Dallas: Single-Back formation with four receivers, strength is right. The defense is in a 34 with nickel personnel and 2-deep man-to-man coverage, expecting the run.
2-1-DEN22 (1Q: 11:42) Danny White pass completed to WR Henry Marshall for 21 yards. The receiver went out of bounds. Tackled by S Ken Schroy. Marshall gained 13 yards after the catch.
So... why is my defense playing the nickel while expecting the run?
