More control, more money, better location, interesting and popular product. The stars aligned and I got a good offer.
Given my educational accomplishments or lack thereof, I'm not quite sure how I've managed to have this much control and success over my career thus far. I'm just happy things keep working out :). Ok enough bragging. I'm just in a celebratory mood.
I'm also relocating closer to Boston, hoping I can etch out some sort of social life.

If it works, don't question it - go with the flow! Good job news is nice to hear - nice one.

Well that's a bump :).
Have a boss who means well, but just isn't a big picture guy. Other than that we grew by around 50% in 2008 and are projected for another 50% 2009(Should be at about 600 employees in December). I also am pretty much given free reign to do anything I want in IT. Picking my own projects and spending money nearly unquestioned.
I just got to hope I don't get too frustrated with bossman and get myself canned :D.

Oh yeah, afer I put my notice in they begged me to stay a month instead of two weeks. I split the difference and gave them three weeks to close out September.
Ugh, never do that. Especially when you are consulting and they just want to squeeze every drop from you. Those weeks lasted an eternity.

Just keep your head on straight. It's hard when you're working for someone who "doesn't get it" but you'll be okay in the long run. Good luck :)

Also get to travel. I'm opening an office in Dayton sometime this year, happened to notice your location :).
I've been to Portland OR, going to Nashville this week and likely have a Seattle trip on the docket this year. Next year is Tampa, San Diego and whatever offices we end up opening.

Did somebody say Dayton?
Why was this thread bumped after 8 months? I must have missed something.
