Coming off our best recruiting class ever, we're expecting bigger and better things in 2006. One thing we're definitely expecting is a conference win over someone other than Princeton.

Staff Shake-up

It's been very tough for us to hang on to the staff we have, and this offseason was no exception. Mid-Atlantic Scout Cris Johnson has retired after 3 years with us. Here's his replacement:

While Lance isn't an amazing scout by any means, he should help us pick up some quality local talent. Being in charge of New Jersey, he is probably the most member of our staff.

Ryan Murphy - Will probably be a career backup. The end of his senior year was lousy and he ended with only 6 td's to 4 interceptions. He also struggled with his accuracy, completing less than 50%.

Tony Richard - Undoubtedly the future of the team. Tony threw for 12 touchdowns and 0 intercptions as a high school senior. He completed 71% of his passes for 2,269 yards. With a year of red-shirting, he'll almost certainly be the starter next year.

Lester Winters - Another moderately talented prospect, Lester will have a hard time finding his way onto the field.

George Norman - has a big heart, but little talent. He's not terrible for a walk-on.

Dana Wilkerson - A lousy walk-on player who may only see action as a backup tight end. We don't use a fullback in the single-back offense.

Jimmy Brooks - Should be an outstanding player. The only question is whether we will red-shirt him or get him right into the mix.

Drew Austen - Could turn into a decent posession reciever given some time. A pretty good walk-on.

Wade Caeyzeele - definitely needs some time to work on his skills, but could be a decent center in a few years.

Teddy Watkins - is all potential. Not ready to play, but extremely gifted for a player who came here without a scholarship offer.

Gerald Ford - Will maul people in run-blocking. May see the field as a true freshman.

Wayne Horn - May be able to beat out senior Harvey Kreitzer for the job.

Victor Fragomeni - An incredible upgrade over our last bum, Artie Kenny. He will excel here.

Alvin Desantis - may be the most ready to play of any freshman I have had yet. Should start at DT.

Preston Sutherland - Will need to red-shirt. Has potential but isn't close yet.

Steven Brewster - Big play maker with tons of potential. Could see the field as a freshman. Will eventually be our best CB.

Justin Clark - Prepared enough to see plenty of playing time this year, but not nearly as much upside as we initally thought.

Harvey Jamison - Plenty of potential, but a year away from contributing.

It's never an easy schedule. As you can see we've been dominated by our conference, and unless we make some headway there, things are never going to change.

California, U-Conn, Princeton, and Duke should be definite victories. If we can eek out a win over BYU or a conference win or two, we could be hoping for a 6-5 season or better. Only time will tell.

Whoops!

Somehow i overestimated how many scholarships would be available last season, and brought aboard too many players. To keep in compliance with my 60 scholarship limit (house rule) I was forced to cut some guys loose. I'm so sorry boys.

Tony Richards wasn't ready to be our QB just yet, but has displayed eye-popping potential in practice. We expect him to make a serious run at the starting job next season. For now we will stick with Lewis Meadows who had a surprisingly good off-season and came in looking very sharp in practice. If he can cut down the interceptions from last season, we could win another 2 or 3 games. Daryl Heath just barely edged out Byron Pfaff for the backup slot.

If there is a position where we are loaded, Reciever is it. You know the competition is tough when junior wideout Buddy Lang is red-shirted. Buddy didn't complain at all, and still feels he could use the time to recover from last years broken leg. He'd rather sit out the season and play a larger role next year. Ricardo Schroeder is our guy here, and Irwin, Upshaw, and Wheeler give QB Lewis Meadows plenty of targets to hit. If this team fails to score plenty of points through the air, it's entirely the quarterback's fault.

Offensive Line seems to be our most improved area from last year. Dan Barton will start for the fourth year in a row at center, and Kent Willis and Donnie Geffen provide good depth.

Guard Andrew Imlay is ready to hold down the LG position, and aims to lead the team in key run blocks. Junior Chad Sinceno will get most the time at right guard.

Tackle is a tricky position. Nathan Darkins has lots of upside, but we're tempted to play some of our Guards and Centers at tackle to provide better immediate help. We'll probably end up rotating a lot of players to keep them fresh.

At DE Terry Jackson is still a player without peer. He should sack his way to another 1st team big-east selection. While converted FB Terrell Terrell doesn't seem to have quite the upside he used to, we still like him well enough to give him the start at the other DE position. He will be backed up by DT Corwin Giron mostly.

At DT, Nick Evans will certainly start, and Freshman Alvin Desantis will take the other position. Corwin Giron will see time as the top backup along the entire defensive line.

Anglewicz, Irwin, and Clark will rotate to make up our cornerbacks at all times. They are pretty equal in talent, and i'd like the freshman to get in there and see some action. With 2 more red-shirting CB's we could see a changing of the guard next season.

At Safety Sawyer and Bidwill are the clear-cut starters. Barlow and Ordonez will see backup duty, as well as playing the #4 and #5 cornerback roles.

Final Pre-Season news and thoughts

Coaching
We are now heading into our 4th season with the single back offense - and the offense is cleary the best it's ever been (well, maybe not the Qb situation). We're expecting our offensive numbers to go up across the board.

Defensively, this will be our 3rd year playing out of a 4-3 base defense, and our talent there is also the best it has been yet. If the secondary can keep us in the game, we could have a pretty good season.

We bumped up our practice time one more notch this year to 19, we've gone up one point a year from 15 originally. I doubt we'd ever go beyond 20.

Senior Tight End Bert Knight was moved to inside linebacker. The move gives him a bettter shot at playing, and also avoids having to bring in another walk-on player.

Recruiting Outlook

Things are looking a bit dim with only 8 scholarship players graduating this season. At most we'll bring in 10 players, and then decided who has to hit the road. Bringing in 1 or 2 extra players might also insure against any players who quit the team over playing time or leaving early for the NFL.

It will be tought to get all revved up about a recruiting class when we're looking to haul in 6 or more walk-ons. We'll still do our best.

Specifically during recruiting we'll be looking for depth at Running Back, Tackle, Defensive Line, and Quarterback as always. We feel pretty good about our other positions, but will obviously go after talent as our strengths and their desires line up.

Weeks 1 & 2 Review

Rutgers Scarlet Knights (0-0) at Califronia Golden Bears (0-0)

last meeting: Last year at Rutgers Cal won 31-21
The Coaches Poll ranked Rutgers #115 and Cal #116
California was favored by 4 at home
weather: 55 degrees and rain

The game started off with each team exchanging punts, but then Cal's second posession was a one play 73 yard touchdown pass. Ugh! we were down 7-0 early. We played well in the first half but only mustered a field goal. We kept getting stopped on 3rd and short to end our drives. Hoping to hold tight it was 17-3 at the half. Mentally I decided that if we lost this game, I might change my mind about red-shirting QB Tony Richard.

Acting from his usual script, QB Lewis Meadows murdered us with interceptions. Our drives ended twice with this fool throwing the ball away. The game got close as we scored a touchdown at the very beginning of the fourth quarter. With an 3rd quarter field goal, we had pulled to 17-12 (our 2 point conversion attempt failed).

I think at this point our team went home. The ensuing kickoff was run back 105 yards for a touchdown to put a dagger in our hearts. QB Lewis Meadows would add two more knives in our own backs as his next two passes were intercepted and returned for touchdowns. The game was out of hand, and my mind had completely changed about the QB situation. Next week the Tony Richard era begins.

Final Score: California 38, Rutgers 19

funny how a sophomore is our most reliable player. actually it's not funny, i think pathetic is a better word.

DE Bryan McCrary
A 6'4" 255 monster out of Newark (NJ), Bryan is ranked the #100 player nationally, and the 11th best Defensive End. Bryan said his top priorities in a school are distance and the academics of a schools Kinesiology program. We happen to be the closest school to Bryan and offer the 11th best program in his field of study. It's also noteworthy that the 10 schools above us are all Western or Southern schools. Bryan has 5 sacks and 34 tackles in just 4 games so far. We're very excited to know he'll consider us.

CB T.J. Dawson
An incredible man-to-man coverege corner from Alquippa, PA, T.J.'s preferences are distance and academics. Were not the closest school to him, but we probably do provide the best Spanish program around. He has recorded 6 interceptions, 2.5 sacks, and 24 tackles in 6 games.

TE Stan O'Donnell
Stan hails from Saratoga Springs, NY and is known for his ability to get open and make a big play. Favoring distance and team prestige, we know there is the potential for Stan to get snapped up by another local big-time program.

In other recruiting...
We actually had a terrible first two weeks of recruiting, talking with many players who will have no interest in coming here next year. We'll have to hustle to make up lost ground.

Week 3 Review

Connecticut Huskies (0-1) at Rutgers Scarlet Knights (0-1)

weather: 49 degrees and rain

This was the day the Tony Richard era began. Hopefully it will become an important day in Rutgers history....

On our first posession, things started great as Tony completed his first 3 passes for gains of 19,19, and 20 yards! 2 Players later Carlton Duncan plowed over left tackle for a touchdown! so far so good! The next drive was almost an opposite of the first, featured three sizable runs by Carlton Duncan, and then Tony Richard hit Ricardo Schroeder to give us a 14-0 lead!

In the third quarter we were driving for a certain score when Tony Richard made his first mistake of the game and was intercepted in the endzone. Things were made worse when two plays later U-Conn scored on a 64 yard run to make the game 17-14. I really began to sweat when Connecticut tied the game at the end of the 3rd quarter. Tony Richard immediately calmed me, hitting Ricardo Schroeder on a perfect deep ball that went for 53 yards. The drive would only yield a field goal, but we pulled slightly ahead 20-17.

Connecticut fumbled on their ensuing posession and the Tony Richard show continued! He hit tight end C.J. Rodriguez for a 43 yard touchdown pass immediately and would add another before the end of the game.

Final Score: Rutgers 37, U-Conn 24

RB Carlton Duncan - 28 carries, 107 yards, 1 touchdown

hehe, Chellgren will never see the field. Maybe i'll move him to punter to humiliate him or something. I really won't need him at all next season.

That's a good question about army, I really don't think they've been faring any better then we have, but i'll be sure to check on it for you. I recall as recently as two years ago, both Army and Navy were amongst the worst records (all-time record) in the whole division.

Weeks 4-5 Review

We were off week 4, but week 5 brought:

Rutgers Scarlet Knights (1-1) at #10 Virginia Tech Hokies (2-0)

The Coaches Poll ranked Rutgers #87 and Virginia Tech #10
Tech was favored by 16 at home
weather: 60 degrees and stormy

The first half was a very tightly played. Both teams had been forced out of scoring oppurtunities when their quarterbacks took sacks inside the red zone. Eventually V.T. got on the board with a rushing touchdown halfway through the 2nd quarter. Tech seemed to be overpowering us late in the second quarter though, we went in to the half down 17-0.

Early in the third, Tony Richard led us downfield and tossed a touchdown to Ricardo Schroeder, making it 17-7. Our defense held tight into the fourth quarter, when Tony Richard again found Ricardo Schroeder for a 21 yard touchdown to make it 17-14 with 6 minutes to go. We realized we had a real shot at winning this one...

When forced to start from our 4 yard line though, our hopes died. A desperation 4th down pass from Tony Richard was intercepted and returned for a touchdown to put the game out of reach.

Final Score: Virginia Tech 24, Rutgers 14

I don't think I can get down on the team after playing the #10 in the country so damn closely. Tony Richard is looking like the real deal. When he and Carlton Duncan reach their potential....look out! It's also worth noting that he had more first downs, passing yards, and rushing yards then Virginia Tech. This game was winnable, but we're still a young team.

While we're not the closest school to him (Johnstown, PA) we are offering the best education.

Week 6

Brigham Young Cougars (1-2) at Rutgers Scarlet Knights (1-2)

last meeting: Last year at Rutgers, BYU squeaked out a win 42-37
The Coaches Poll ranked Rutgers #104 and BYU #60
BYU was favored by 3 on the road. That's an insult.
weather: 64 degrees and rain.

On the second play from scrimmage, the explosive BYU offense threw a 70 yard TD pass. We were then pinned deep and tackled for a safety. BYU took the ball after the free kick and made it 16-0.

Tony Richard hit Ricardo Schroeder for a 59 yard touchdown pass. We stopped BYU at midfield and Tony Richard lead another drive, eventually ending on a 1 yard Carlton Duncan touchdown run. With 2 minutes in the half, Tony Richard passed us into the red zone, and Victor Fragomeni gave us a 17-16 lead on his first field goal of the day.

At the beginning of the 3rd quarter, TOny RIchard threw an errant pass in our own territory. It ended up handing BYU 3 points and a 19-17 lead. After both teams exchanged a few punts, our defense made what seemed to be game-turning play. Safety Mickey Ordonez steppd in front of a BYU pass and returned it 61 yards for a touchdown! 24-19

At the beginning of the 4th quarter, Carlton Duncan came alive, and carried for over 40 yards on one drive, resulting in another Fragomeni field goal. We were up by a touchdown now 27-19 Tony Richard made a huge mistake, throwing into double coverage, and had his pass returned 56 yards for a touchdown. Luckily the run for conversin failed and we remaing up by 2. 27-25

With 5 minutes to go, BYU took the lead 28-27. BYU added another after our defense failed to stop them on 4 3rd down oppurtunities. it was now desperate at 31-27 with under a minute remaining. We came up with nothing and lost the game.

Final Score: BYU 31, Rutgers 27

We are the first school Bryan is visiting! We made sure he spent plenty of time with our resident Rutgers legend, DE Terry Jackson. Bryan seems interested in taking over the position that will be vacated next season. While Michigan and Florida can offer him a slightly better education, he seems reluctant to move so far from home.

QB Melvin Sanks
Melving is now visiting Florida, but we believe he will at least accept our invitation to look at the campus and meet all the coaches. We'd like to bring him in to add QB depth.

Local school Pitt. has offered Darrin a scholarship, but our Nursing program dwarves theirs. We think once he comes and meets the staff that his mind will be made up.

Week 7

West Virginia was favored by 7 at home
weather: 56 degrees and rain

Is it just me, or is every single game we play in the rain?

Early in the game we gave away 7 points when our punt was blocked deep in our own zone. QB Tony Richard quickly led us down the their endzone though, and a 33 yard TD pass to Cole Upshaw tied it at 7.

We got a special teams play of our own as we blocked a punt deep in their territory, setting up a short Carlton Duncan run. On more tough running we led 21-14 at the half.

The 3rd quarter was nothing but punts, and there was no scoring. The game heated up in the 4th when West Virginia closed to 21-17 with a field goal. Answering back on a time consuming drive, Victor Fragomeni sent one through the uprights to maintain our touchdown lead, 24-17. Our defense would hold after thanks to some huge Terry Jackson sacks, and we ended up running out the clock inside their 10 yard line. 3rd quarter was all punts. early 4th, WVU added a field goal. 21-17

This is a huge win for us! Our first ever Big East win against someone other than Princeton!

Final Score: Rutgers 24, West Virginia 17

Averaging over 22 yards a catch, Lewis would be an excellent addition to our strong recieving corps. Central Florida has also offered him a scholarship, and he has expressed interest in playing for their more prestiguous football program. We'd rate our shot at landing Lewis as only fair.

Weeks 8-12 update

Rather than try to re-create my lost posts (from the loss of all 10/3 posts) I'm going to quickly bring you guys up to speed so I can keep my dynasty rolling. The sad part is i've lost track of the recruiting committments/rejections now, so i will do a special recruiting wrap-up at the end of the season.

Week 8
We have Miami at home. QB Tony Richard has a career day (362 yards passing, 4 touchdowns no interceptions) but the defense just can't hold. This was really ana amazing game, back and forth constantly, with us leading early in the 4th and then letting it slip away.

Final Score: Miami 47, Rutgers 35

Week 9
bye week

Week 10
We have Boston College at home. Tony Richard and RB Carlton Duncan both have amazing games and we shock and upset B.C. in a rout, 35-6. Senior WR Ricardo Schroeder breaks is wrist and is done playing for Rutgers. He's our all time leader in all recieving categories, all purpose yards, and touchdowns. The win brings us to 3-4 on the season.

Final Score: Rutgers 35, Boston College 6

Week 11
We travel to face #1 ranked Syracuse on the road. This game was a heartbreaker. We jumped to a very quick 14-0 lead and then the offense just got shut down. Our defense was slowly leaking, and eventually the Orangemen overcame us. It was still a very impressive performance considering we were facing the best team in the nation on the road.

Final Score: Syracuse 23, Rutgers 14

Week 12
#6 ranked Pitt comes to Rutgers and gets beat! This was our biggest win in school history. We jump to an early lead, but then star QB Tony Richard is injured. We later find out a torn calf muscle will keep him out the rest of the year. Luckily backup Lewis Meadows doesn't screw up too badly, despite throwing a few interceptions inside the other teams red zone. WR Walt Irwin is also lost for the season with a dislocated elbow. The victory takes us to 4-5 but we have now lost our QB and top 2 recievers going into our last two games.

Final Score: Rutgers 16, Pitt 10

Week 13 Review

Rutgers Scarlet Knights (4-5) at Princeton Tigers (5-5)

last meeting: last year at Princeton we won big, 40-6
The Coaches Poll ranked Rutgers #87 and Princeton #92
We were favored by 2 on the road
weather: 62 degrees and fair

Ahhh, our 'Revolutionary War.' We're 4-0 against the bums so far, and even though they snapped their 45 game losing streak,
they're not fooling us. We plan on going into Princeton and doing exactly what we did last year, turn those Tigers into kittens.

The stakes were certainly higher for this game than they had ever been. Princeton was playing their last game of the season, and had a shot at their first winning record since joining the Big East. At 4-5 a win could provide us the same oppurtinity, with Duke at home next week.

Our passing game has been depleted over the last 3 weeks with season ending injuries to our savior QB Tony Richard, and top two recievers; senior Ricardo Schroeder and junior Walt Irwin.
I really wondered what this game had in store for us. With the ability to hand these Tigers another losing season, we decided we'd need to keep the ball out of the hands of our inept QB and put in on the legs of our star running back.

We came out sharp early. Duncan was running like a madman and Lewis Meadows looked surprisingly sharp against the Princeton secondary. Considering our top two recievers were out, he was playing well above my expectations. Before I knew it we were leading 14-0.

After the first quarter I realized Princeton would have little success. We controlled the clock on the running of Carl Duncan, and Meadows was accurate when needed. When all was said and done, we realized next week we would have a shot at a winning season.

Final Score: Rutgers 20, Princeton 10

With these yards he topped his career and Rutgers-best from last season.

We're done with scholarships (11 total) and are now entering the tough sell, convincing players to walk on. We currently have about 9 interested players for 5 spots, but we know it'll take a few more weeks before they give up their hopes of receiving a scholarship elsewhere.

Week 14 Review

Duke Blue Devils (2-8) at Rutgers Scarlet Knights (5-5)

last meeting: last year at home we eeked out a 17-7 win
The Coaches Poll ranked Rutgers #78 and Duke #118
We were favored big at home, by 20
weather: 47 degrees and raining

We stuffed Duke early and then passed our way down to their 2 yard line. I'm not sure whether to shoot the offensive coordinator or the quarterback, but Lewis Meadows of course tossed an interception in the endzone to kill the drive. Meadows tossed 2 more interceptions on the Duke end of the field in the first quarter

We went to the half 0-0, and i was beating on my Lewis Meadows punching bag at the half to calm myself. I immediately decided that if we lost the game he would be cut at the beginning of next season. Early in the 3rd quarter, Carlton Duncan took matters into his own hands and had 50 yards worth of running on the drive that resulted in the first score of the game. 7-0

Our offense then stalled while our defense played tough. We constantly gave Duke the ball near midfield, and on about their tenth try they managed to score, tying the game at 7 with 9 minutes remaining. Our horrible punting and offense was catching up with us, Duke was pushing us farther and farther back while inching slowly closer.

I had to hide under my desk while they missed a potential winning field goal with 1:49 remaining. Things were even worse when they downed a punt at our 1 with 50 seconds to go...luckily we got off the one and the game went to overtime.

Duke won and elected to play defense.

3rd and 16: Interception in the endzone....have we seen this before?

It would now take a miracle to stop Duke from winning on their first posession.

Disgusted. I feel literally sick to my stomach. Not only did we lose the most winnable game ever, Lewis Meadows flushed a season that wasn't even his down the toilet. To make matters worse, it looks like we would have made a bowl game had we won, since we ended up finishing 4th in the big east. Lewis Meadows had better leave this team before i throw his ass off it.

Final Score: Duke 10, Rutgers 7 (OT)

Player of the Week nominees:
RB Carlton Duncan - 26 carries, 135 yards and a touchdown.
If only he could have played quarterback.

DE Terry Jackson - 10 tackles, 7 assists, 1.5 sacks.
I feel terrible sending him out of here on a game like that. I wouldn't mind giving him a couple more sacks on QB Lewis Meadows, it would make us both feel better.

QB Lewis Meadows earned a lifetime achievement award in coach killing with this performance:

11 of 27 for 170 yards. 0 touchdowns and 4 interceptions. 2 interceptions in the endzone (one in OT) and all 4 inside the Duke 35 yard line.

What a terrible end to an amazing season. Blowing a shot at our first winning record will haunt me until next year. Blame simply has to be placed on QB Lewis Meadows who cost us both the first and last games of the season. I will release him from the squad at the beginning of next year, he's terrible for morale.

Post-Season wrap-up...

...from a Big East perspective.
First I'd like to let you know that we wouldn't have made a bowl game even had we won the last game. The power poll was so down on us that Miami and Boston College (teams we beat) both would have gone ahead of us anyway. If only these conference standings actually meant something (maybe in TCY 2 they will?)

anyway....

Bowl Results

#45 Miami defeated Lousiana State in a minor bowl 20-13

#29 V.T. beat #23 Texas Christian 34-7 in a major bowl

#13 Pitt beat #12 Colorado 38-31 in a major bowl

#1 Syracuse played #2 Texas in the Rose Bowl for the national title....and they won 34-15! Syracuse finishes the season 12-0!

This all makes me feel even better about our season. We beat 3 of the 4 Big East teams that went to the bowls, and they all won their bowl games. It's also great to know that we played Syracuse tougher (on the road no less) than the #2 team in the country did.

2006 Stat Summary

What a difference a year makes!

Offensively...

Our rushing yards stayed just about even while our YPC dropped .3 yards. I was surprised throughout the year at our sub-par run blocking, although i seemed to have made adjustments to help it for the last 4 games.

We threw the ball 50 more times and ran 30 more times...this is good news overall, it means our defense is getting of the field, and our offense is staying on it.

Our passing game was much sharper under Tony Richard, averaging .7 more yards per attempt and getting 600 more yards.

We scored 5 more points per game and turned the ball over 12 less times overall our turnover margin went from -22 to +4, quite an improvement!

Defensively...

we held out opponents to .4 yards less per carry, (3.27 40th best in the country)

teams earned less rushing yards and less passing yards (though they did have a higher yards-per-passing-attempt)

our points allowed per game dropped over a touchdown from 30.8 to 21.8!

we also forced 27 turnovers to last years 13!

Seeing my first recruiting class all-grown up got me a little misty-eyed at year end, here's a glance at our graduating seniors:

Cornerback Mercury Minter
A 4 year walk-on. The best thing about Mercury is....his name, let's just leave it at that. Time to take that Algebra degree and put it to use.

Inside Linebacker Bert Knight
A converted Tight-End, Bert just filled out the roster. We hoped he enjoyed his stay, and we hope he has a bright future in Geology.

Tight End Preston Hawkins
A walk-on who actually became our top backup last season. Although he only caught 10 passes in his career, he showed a decent amount of talent. Sadly, Preston won't ever play football again.

Defensive End Brad Lamarr
As a player Brad was a real disappointment, barely looking better his senior year than his freshman. Good luck in your Geography pursuit.

Safety Calvin Schwartz
Never a big time player, just DB depth. He and Bert Knight were Geology study partners.

Wide Receiver Frankie George
A converted DB and walk-on Frankie was only there to fill out the depth chart. I'm sure he'll have some great stories to tell his grandchildren about the 2 touchdown catches he caught back in 2004 though. Good luck with the Algerbra carreer George!

Defensive Tackle Nick Evans
A consummate role player. Nick Has played since his true freshman year, working his way up as a starter the last two. He platooned at defensive tackle and came up with a few big sacks his senior year. This is almost certainly the end of his playing days.

Wide Receiver Neal Gray
A one-time starter who ended up being buried beneath some more talented youngsters. Still, we'll never forget his value as a #3 wideout.

Outside Linebacker Sherman Blackburn
A 4 year starter and solid yet unspectacular player. He was always among the team lead in tackles, and did a decent job for us against the run. He's a longshot to play professionally, but i guess you never know.

Center Dan Barton
A 44 game starter for us, a true tough-man. Started as a true freshman and never missed a game, will leave us as our all-time leader in key run blocks. We'll miss his presence anchoring the line and we think he'll have a fair chance to play professionally.

Wide Receiver Ricardo Schroeder
Ricardo is an offensive legend to us. He was well on his way to a third straight 1,000 yard recieving year when an injury forced him to miss the last 3 games. He'll leave us with 7 school records (4 of them also Big East records). His odds of playing professional ball seem quite good, but if not he has an excellent brain to fall back on, he was a 3.5 student in his Spanish major.

Defensive End Terry Jackson
The legend himself. Terry absolutely took the conference by storm. Terry leaves as the NCAA record holder in tackles-for-loss, and also holds 6 other school records, as well as another Big East record for career sacks. He earned a total of 8 conference or national all-team selections. We hope he'll be a star in the pro's and bring greater attention to our program. He has the looks of a first-round draft pick

I couldnt believe my eyes as it was happening. With Lewis Meadows being forced to play QB, i still thought "as long as he has a decent game, no problem." Of course he came out and layed an all-time stinking egg of a performance. 4 interceptions, all in scoring range, 2 in the endzone, 1 in overtime! Ahhhh! If only we had run on the OT 3rd down and kicked a field goal.:(
