Alright this may be old news for some, but for those who don't know, this is very cool.

Sure, there are many cameras nowadays that can shoot video, but you never usually find that on SLR cameras all that much. What makes the Canon 5D Mark II (http://www.dpreview.com/news/0809/08091705canon_5dmarkII.asp) special is that not only does it shoot video, but it can shoot video in 1080p. A few people who were lucky enough to shoot with this camera has come out with some amazing results because it comes out in broadcast quality.

This video doesn't do it complete justice because the the original HD version of this video was pulled due to traffic. So here is what was made using the camera but with reduced quality.
YouTube - "Reverie" Short film demo , Canon EOS 5D MarkII HD Video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ra9XLtjBzUU)

A better representation can be found here, but this only shows you the behind the scenes look of the previous video. However, you can still see clips of what was filmed in 720p. Plus you can see the various ways they used the camera to shoot scenes.

Regardless, it is very cool to see where this is headed. Canon is not the first camera with HD capability but is the first to have 1080p. Nikon had released a HD camera a month before (Nikon's D90 (http://www.nikonusa.com/Find-Your-Nikon/Product/Digital-SLR/25446/D90.html)) that shoots at 720p. So the battle begins which is gonna benefit the consumer. As it stands now, the Nikon sells for around $1000 (body only) and Canon's is selling for around $2700 (body only). I am assuming Canon's price point is based on the popularity of their other 5D camera as well as the 1080p video recording.
