Is there ever going to be an in-game editor for this game. Most text sims have this ability and it is the biggest thing holding me back from making a pruchase.

The reason I like an editor is to update guys who have breakout years or rookies who play beyond expectations - for example I am sure the ratings for eddie royal are not great... an editor would just bring him to the level he should be and then let the game take over.

Well, the players turn over very quickly. Even when I start wiht "real" rosters (which I rarely do), within a few game sessions, none of those guys are still around.

As far as your specific question, I'd ask that one to the company. support AT solecismic DOT com is the e-mail address. This is not an official board, just a fansite. Questions about potential features in the future are more likely to get a truly accurate response from Solecismic than from anyone here.

Well, that's how YOU play. :) What if you call plays, or play a game a day? Guys might stick around longer.

To the OP, an editor might be tricky with how the developer set up player development and masking (now if the editor had access to both the ratings AND the mask...). And obviously for MP, editing would be limited to the commish. I'm also not sure if having an editor would be good for balance in MP if it allowed those who are inclined to test to replicate their MP team a little *too* easily.

That said, more editing options in-game would be nice. I forget when they were added, but editing Franchise Nicknames, City Names, City Affiliations, and Color Schemes were all good QoL features. I think things like City Information and Stadium Information would be useful as well (City at least had been editable via a 3rd party app, but leagues err on the side of caution in editing them). At the least it would be nice to be able to manually facilitate out-of-game franchise moves, so MP owners don't relocate their team to SC but still have them playing for game purposes in MN.

Ideally, league sizes and schedules would be nice things to have customizable too, but that would be taking the game in a different direction I think. The main focus has seemed to be in improving the football engine, gameplanning, and GM AI. As long as there are concerns to be addressed there (latest patch could address one of the remaining issues with the engine), I'd imagine the other items would be on the back burner.

Oh...

MY WAY OF PLAYING IS THE *ONLY* WAY TO PLAY!!1

An interesting idea though might be to have an add player/delete player function. Kind of like you could do in one of the Super Tecmo Bowls (and I assume games after that). Say, adapt the player editor to be able to enter one guy into the FA pool or assign him to a team. You could create a new version of Eddie Royal after you deleted the old one (this could create player ID issues though I suppose).

Limited player editing could be useful too - not only an "assign team" function, but also contract editing.

Oh, maybe a coach editor too.

this isn't the game for that kind of stuff, to answer your question. do not bother asking the question to support AT solecismic DOT com the country will be over this latest recession sooner than you get an answer, and even then it wouldn't be a rather clear answer.

FOF is a game that you either you like or you don't. don't attempt to make it something it's not. there are other games on the horizon from other companies that are more likely to be closer to what you're looking for. this is a game for people who simply like a sound game engine and accurate stats.

you're like a comedy writer for a bad sitcom. LOL

I play SP and having an editor to update some guys as they progress would have been great (who know MJD would be as good as he was in his first year or Colsten - I am sure their original ratings were not good in the game and once you start you can not change - and they probably do not play a large role on their teams).

The editor is not to manipulate it is to adjust players as they go to give a more realistic game.

I do love this game and I guess I will have to bite the bullet without the editor (I was just hoping one would be added or be made by a third party).

maybe you can just keep starting and restarting your career until you get a universe that kinda closely matches real life players.

I think a lot of guys get bogged down thinking this is a game similar to APBA or even Madden or one of any other replay sims, but it's really not. It's designed to generate a completely fictional universe, and give you the experience of running a professional football team. Having real player names just makes it interesting in a different way. Where's the fun in knowing that player A is going to succeed better than player B (because you are going to make sure that he does) and so you draft him higher than the AI drafts him? Or being able to modify your team's weaknesses into strengths by editing the player file? The game engine does a very good job at being unpredictable with the players' development which is what makes this such a great game. So if you look at it that way, you'll see what this game is and not try to bend it in your mind into something that it's not.

I would just like to be able to edit the cpu controlled teams uniform numbers. It really beats me when the other team has a DT and his uni number is 1. Maybe it can be changed and I just don't know it. I'm new to the game.
