Then how about putting the signs down for the time being and trying to exert some energy in supporting our troops and praising the outcome of the difficult job that they are trying to accomplish. Apparently the freed Iraqis have the right idea.

don't get me wrong, i support our troops to the fullest. I pray that they all come home soon and come home safe. Just because i do not agree with this war, does not mean i do not support our troops

Never said you didn't and never said that the other protesters didn't either. What I am saying is that there is a time and place for proactive protests and this is not that time. The effort put into these protests could be better served elsewhere, like in supporting the liberation of the Iraqi people. Put down the Anti-War sign and raise the Pro-Liberation sign. In times like this we have the choice to speak and act in a positive manner that helps bridge the gaps among us or to attempt to further divide us. IMO, the first choice is the best and regardless of someone’s stance on war, this one or any others, we should have the intelligence to choose wisely.

This is a great time for protests and that why you will continue to see massive protests in the US and the rest of the world until this mess is straightened out. We can all agree that we hope the attack is as short as possible, that military casualties are few, that civilian casualties are well under 50K, that this is not the just the beginning of many further US led military attacks elsewhere in the region, that further regional instability is not triggered by this attack, that the attack does not inpire a new generation of anti-US Terrorists the world over, and that once Iraq is vanquished it does not become an even more unstable place than it was.

Syria aka "Disneyland for Terrorists" seems to be a more than worthy target.
