I don't know how many have followed this story, but this is just sad. This girl was moving up the ladder at her TV station, and had just done a small role in the movie "W." She was found severely beaten and left in her bed room earlier this week. She passed away last night, after just Friday the family being told that she could have a full recovery. Here's the story from NYT:

Savagely beaten in her home? WTH? This sucks, I hope they catch the people who did that.
I never knew about her, now I think it's a shame I never will. RIP.
She was very popular and definitely had a bright future. Real shame.

No doubt. They still believe it was a robbery, but I have a hard time believing this was just happenstance.

Yeah, me, too. It seems like an odd occurence. Not like home invasions don't happen, of course, but robbers don't savagely beat people usually, last I checked. This sounds more personal to me.

Very sad, I will never get the savagery of some of the human predators that live among us.. RIP.

It is a nice neighborhood she lives in too. Probably one of the nicest areas of Little Rock. I use to live close by. I was formerly in the media business, so it has affected many people that I know.

That's what I understood as well. So, how many robbery and beating deaths have happened in that neighborhood? My guess somewhere around one, counting this one. I think this will be a crazed fan of some sort. My wife also mentioned another news personality that looked a lot like her was killed recently somewhere near there. That might be a reach.

I agree as well. I think the police just aren't coming out and saying it. Was the other woman single as well? You have a young, attractive lady who is single and lives by herself. She is also on the television nearly everyday. I think also the items taken from her house were very minor.

That I don't know. I can find nothing on it. My wife read about the connection early on when she googled Pressly's name right after the attack. I can't find anything on it now as there are about a billion pages discussing her death.

So glad they found someone. I just want to know the motive.

I'm not sure it matters. We're likely to have a 'WTF?' reaction to any motive he might give. Sad situation.

Oh, it doesn't in a way. I'm just morbidly curious. It is not like there is going to be a good reason. I just wonder if this was a stalker, sexual assault gone wrong, or something of the like. I just have a very hard time believing this was a random robbery as suggested by the police early on.

So, the family released that she was sexually assulted. That makes more sense than this to have been a burglary gone wrong.
