If we strike out on the big names...

Howland

or

Few?

Howland is a big name, IMO.

But I actually think if we don't convince Pitino, Williams, or Howland to leave their current jobs, we'll end up with Tim Floyd. Which is also fine by me.

I think Floyd is the best pick. I doubt anyone takes Georiga job until sanctions are set.

Here's a little USC Humor

Carson comes up to the podium and Sample tells him..

"Sorry Carson. You brought SC football back to prominance, but you never went to class and we can't let you graduate."

The crowd of alumni and graduates start chanting,

"Give Carson a chance, give Carson a chance!"

Sample says,

"OK Carson, I'll give you a math problem and if you solve it, I'll let you garduate."

"What's 4 times 3?"

"Uh, uh, um, 10?"

"I'm sorry Carson, I can't let you graduate."

The crowd chants.

"Give Carson another chance, give Carson another chance!"

"OK," says Sample, "What's 2 plus 2?"

"Uh, uh, um 4?"

The crowd chants.

"Give Carson another chance. Give Carson another chance!"

Pitino has already said he's done changing jobs.. and he's staying in louisville till louisville fires him..

Howland said on pti that he's extremely happy in pittsburgh and got a 8 year extentsion this season for alot more then ucla typically pays their coach.. so he's probably out too

My bet is its someone thats not on the radar screen yet... Look for teams that did alot with seniors and will have to rebuild to be interested.. Xavier's coach Thad Matta perhaps.. Mark few is a possibility, or maybe Bill self.. Ultra long shots include.. Kareem Abdul-Jabaar(hah) or cross town coach Henry bibby

Bibby is not an option. Abdul Jabber is also not either

Crean woul dbe a nice get.

As for Howland, he has recently said the UCLA job is intriguing. And if he was that happy at Pitt, he'd say that he has no interest in the UCLA job. Instead, he just says that he's happy at Pitt. Here's a recent
link (http://www.nypost.com/sports/55956.htm) from a NY paper

Ucla *will* pay this time...I don't think we'll get Rick either, but he did say earlier this year that he would've sprinted to LA for the Ucla job before he took the job @ L-ville. Worth a phone call.

If not, we'll bag Howland or Few. Count on it.

I still don't know why Kareen won't even get a look (AD has said he doesn't want him). That's just flat silly.

What has Kareem proved? Maybe if he had been an AC coach in the NBA after being one at a mid major, sure.

There are some things about Kareem that have prevented him from working in the past that people in certain circles know about...

I might be wrong but I seem to recall him being an assistant in the NBA before. On the other hand, so what? Here is an intelligent man with a connection to UCLA's past who can represent the school well, if without the wonderful Hollywood slickness of Pitino. He has had coaching experience and he WANTS the job for more than just money. Why not take a chance that it might work?

Care to enlighten those of us not in those wonderful circles?
