Specifically, I'd like to have some for Minnesota....

Just a guess, but have you tried Bob Dylan or Bobby Zimmerman for Minnesota?

I'm also guessing Paul Revere and Samuel Adams might do something for New England.

I think that those were characters from The Mary Tyler Moore Show, but I had no idea that the show was set in Minnesota...
