Speaking as an adult who doesn't play Pokemon or get excited about Nintendo characters, are there any games for the Gameboy Advance that are worthy of purchase? Does this little gizmo have any games for people over 16?

AND why don't they port Tecmo Super Bowl and update it with current players? I'd buy the thing in a heartbeat.

Harry Potter was fun for a side scrolling (whatever you call it) type game.

If you like RPG there is a lot. I am currently playing Eye of The Beholder and Golden Sun.

RPG's can be fun. Harry Potter is a little too young for me.

I figure that Metroid is a given. What about Advance Wars? That looks decent.

Hey, I went out and purchased a GB SP at lunch today.

I bought Metroid Fusion which was named Handheld Game of the Year!!

So far I have been very impressed with colored screen. Metriod is awesome as well.

If you want to find out what games are good for the GB SP go here and click on gameboy advance for all the past and latest game reviews.

I prefer ign or gamespot for gaming reviews for consoles. I like ign because they're a bit N biased while gamespot is filled with what neo-gamers call more "even handed": "Nintendo is kiddie, ps2 is ok, and xbox rulez!" While I don't want this to digress into fanboy-ism, last I checked, I was 23 and enjoy all types of games so try to back away from those biases every once in a while and you might find something new that you like.

Anyways, the gba is great for remakes but also has some cool original games.

Remakes: Zelda: Lttp (one of the finest games of all time), a couple of the marios, Dragon Warrior 1-3 (for the rpg fans- I highly recommend these! Retranslated and play is less painful than on th NES), Mario Kart

Orignal Games: A couple of GBC exclusive Zeldas, Metroid Fusion, a pair of good Castlevania games that are good for 20 hours each, Advance Wars (a great RTS game)

And these are just games in the past year and a half off the top of my head. Also, in case you didn't know, in May, N is coming out with a device that connects to the Gamecube and you can play gameboy games on the tv. Lastly, any game for the gameboy color or original gameboy will play on it (except Kirby Tilt 'n Tumble but if you know the game, you'll know why- you had to turn the actual gameboy for Kirby to move) so you can play anything as old as Tetris.

SI

that's helpful, thanks. Gonna start with Metroid and either a Zelda or Advance Wars for now.

I've tried some roms of Tecmo SB, which is where I assume you got the Vick image, but it's just not the same on a keyboard. Maybe I'll give it another shot. In a world where there's a sequel for everything, how can they forget about the game most worthy of one?

I stand corrected about the sequels too. Apparently there have been quite a few of low quality.

I had a gameboy advanced. Had goldensun the only decent game I had for it.

My only complaint is that it isnt backlit, so dont expect to play in poor light. Its best to play outside in sunlight

I'm too old. My daughter has one, but no matter what I do I can't see the screen well enough to play it. Too small. :(

Ummm, I'm slightly over 16 and I enjoy the Pokemon games. I can respect you not liking the game since everybody has their own taste. On the other hand, I'm not sure why someone would need to be under 16 to enjoy it.

That'd be nifty indeed.

To each their own. Truthfully I've never played Pokemon. Given its popularity, it's probably a fine game that appeals to all ages. But lets be frank - it's made for the kiddies. I was looking for something targeted towards a more adult sensibility... preferably with extensive porn content.

Unless... there's no Pokemon porn, is there? That would change everything.

I started playing Pokemon on the Gameboy in order to help my daughter with some of the text (she's now 7, I'm 28)...and I actually got hooked on it for a while. I finished two of the games (Yellow and Crystal) and I'm looking forward to getting her one of the new ones for GBA (Ruby & Sapphire) so I can 'help' her some more. :)
